Zotano

Zotano is a river that is generally considered to mark the northern border of the Bashied Desert. It frows from the east, starting in the Faliso Shield, and then bifucates at a point, spliting, with a smaller portion flowing north into the Jukano Gulf, called the Little Zotano.

Geography

The River is about a mile wide most of the way, even wider at some points, and flows at an even pace.

Localized Phenomena

The Bifurcation

Strangely the river bifucates, creating a branching stream that flows north. This phenomenon is supposed to have happened sometime in the early first Era. General consensus for this is a conflict between two rival Naiads. It is detailed in the local myth, The Zotan.

Fauna & Flora

Many freshwater fish live in the river, along with some aquatic mammals like otters.   The water from the river is used to irrigate farms in the eastern Sunotria Plains. Also it is an important source of water for the Lapharah who live in the strip in land between the pre bifucated river and the Gulf.
