Zot and Tan

The story behind the bifurcation of the Zotano River.

Summary

It is said before the first era, when the land was freshly carved and not yet peopled the Zotano River was the home to two Naiads, Zot and Tan. They were proud of their river, which was the greatest in the world.   After sometime, the peoples of the world were created and brought into the lands, with many varied groups relying on the waters of the Zotano river. This filled both Zot and Tan with great pride and joy, as they were honored by many.   Conflict arose after it is said that one town failed to honor Zot as they did Tan. Filled with rage, Zot sought to flood the town, which then angered Tan. These two Naiads did battle with one another, and Tan forced Zot to take their waters away from where they had made the river overflow its banks. This created the bifurcation.
