Their fur is usually solid color, with a lighter color on their anterior thorax.   Adult males are noticeably smaller, with an average height of 3'. Their ears are of similar size to the female, but they are not carried erect like the females, and instead hang loosely. Their fur is usually stripped between with black and grey, and white fur on their anterior thorax. They are just as agile as the females, though they are weaker.

Social Structure

The Laphara live in Warrens which are built around extended family units that live together in a burrow. While the term burrow comes from their living underground in tunnel complexes, it now refers to the family unit itself, as many burrows are actually a group of round huts, though some are still underground depending on the terrain.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

Laphare society is built around the Warren. Warrens are generally lead by Warn Mother. The Warn Mother is a well respected member of the warren who is the de facto leader. Most decisions are made jointly by the warren. These big decisions include moving, going to war, or dividing the warren into smaller bands.

The females usually fill the roles of warriors, hunters, builders, and leaders, while the males are tend the small garden plots, craft tools, and work as weavers and potters. Both are equally responsible for the rearing of children.

History

Lapharah were created by the Beast Lord Lahrah. They are a reserved species that has little contact with outside world usually. Most of their history is told orally, and includes stories of heroes, who generally accomplish their goals through trickery and stealth.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The Laphara do not like to interact with other species, instead preferring to live in their isolated communities. They do occasionally trade with Tsa Shazin desert nomads, or groups that travel down the Zatono River. On rare occasions some will go adventuring.
