Berani
A Nation in the far north east of Notria, blanketed in cold snow for the majority of the year. The harsh land gave rise to a hardy people and unique lifestyle. The few crops that can grow there are noted to be tasteless at best and appalling at worst. The same is said of the people, although outside of Berani and it's neighbor Yvx very little is known of the nation.
Structure
The country using a feudalist system, with a King like figure at the top. His hereditary role has lead to a handful of succession crisis by the minor lords serving. In some cases, the countries power may shift to the lord with the largest army, although the King's line is always allowed to keep their title. The lords of the land will usually pay respect or even be in the King's court. Underneath them is a caste of warriors, and beneath them the craftsmen and farmers.
Culture
The country is focused on its war fending off their neighbors to the west, so a very militant culture is in place. This along side a system of administration put in place to help keep the warrior caste in check work parallel to each other fostering a divide in society between state, military, and peasantry. A strong sense of spirituality is present among the people, especially the lower classes, as such there is a large population who are members of monastic orders.
