Mobile Refinery Fleet X809-Q
A fleet of manufacturing vessels, provided with an escort of Hive Tyrannus ships. The escort is often augmented by whatever ships nearby systems can afford, in exchange for more lucrative deals. The main fleet consists of heavy refinery ships, supplied in their crafts by ships outfitted for cloud mining comets, plasma scooping gas giants or salvaging space debris.
The pride of the fleet is the Goliath-class factory ship "Beast of Bounty", capable of refining even the lowest grade of ores into valuable plasma. Not only that, but a massive plasma scoop and matching refineries allow it to fuel itself and its factories inde finitely by consuming parts of stars. Such massive undertakings often bring the fleet away from the system for many years on resource and trading runs. When the
fleet returns, however, profits sky-rocket.
History
The refinery fleet consists of the remnants of the explorator fleet which rediscovered the Ilyxis sector a few standard centuries ago, augmented by a Goliath-class that was found as a derelict.
