Adeptus Mechanicus
The Mechanicus had a major presence in the Illyxis sector, which possessed a wealth of exploitable resources, and untapped mysteries. The opening of the great rift forced their hand into repurposing the explorator fleet assigned to the sector. They pooled their remaining resources into establishing a permanent base of operations in the Coriolis II system, and forging a massive manufacturing fleet to feed the increasingly strained effort to keep the sector from being swallowed by chaos.
With the Dark Imperium isolated from the greater Imperium, and even the sectors within isolated from each other, the Mechanicus has fared better than others. Due to being separated from the usual chain of command of the Imperium, the loss of contact has been less of a concern to the Arch-magi of forge worlds. In fact, some might argue that without the meddling of Mars they can achieve even greater things. There is no doubt that in the Dark Imperium, the Mechanicus has gained in power and influence as one of the few more stable organisations left standing.
Isolated magi, split off from the original explorator fleet on missions, remain across the sector.
