The Global Depression
Disaster / DestructionThe Global Depression was a devastating wave of economic hardship across the world. Many companies, particularly in the Armaments Industry, merged or made massive cuts to jobs and spending to stay in business. Unemployment rose worldwide to 25%, with the highest unemployment being in the EU at 40%. It is estimated the resulting starvation in some households due to lack of income resulted in at least 1 million worldwide deaths, with 5 million being suicides Many Arms Manufacturers were formed in their present state by the Global Depression, whether it be by merger with another company or a reform of the company. Some of these companies would go on to contribute to incredibly important military projects, such as North American Avionics who would help create the pivotal XF-45 Lightning III (Pre-Interstellar War).

UN Economic Reforms
Political eventIn the wake of the Global Depression, the EU and USA decided that it would be best to reform the UN into an entity that could help regulate the economies of its member states. Although the necessary reforms were passed, the reforms were met with mixed attitudes, especially in the Middle East. However this did lay out the ground work for a United Earth Government.

Thomas Challenger Adopted by the Archer Family
Life, IdentityAfter a lot of begging, paperwork and financial decisions, Joseph Archer managed to convince his father, Christopher Archer to adopt Thomas Challenger. Although this did help Thomas' mental state, he was never the same bright and out going individual after the Conspiracy Revolts. His school performance slumped and he started becoming addicted to drugs. The Archer family made every effort they could to prevent him sliding down this slope, but the loss of his parents was too much.

The Great Resource War Begins
Military actionWith fossil fuels becoming more and more scarce, many Middle Eastern Countries immediately jump at the news that a massive untapped oil deposit has been discovered on the Iraq-Iran Border. The UN immediately deploys its Peacekeeping forces to secure the region so that conflict between the local nations does not ensue. However, Iranian ground forces begin converging on the Oil deposit. The ensuing conflict ends in a costly UN victory.

United Nations Centurion Peacekeeping Wing Founded
FoundingThe UNCPW was formed in the aftermath of the Great Resource War. The UNCPW was created by Executive Order 771 of the UN Security Council. The wing was originally intended to be made of up of test pilots for the X series of aircraft, the XF and XT projects. However, the incredibly advanced nature of these projects led the UNSC to change the role of the UNCPW to a fully fledged combat unit within a week of EO771 being given.

GLI Incursions
Military actionThe GLI Incursions were a massive set of uprisings across the Middle East. They were orchestrated by the Global Liberation Initiative, a large terrorist group made up of ISIS remnants and other Islamic Extremist groups. The GLI coordinated uprisings across the Middle East, from Israel to Pakistan. Uprisings in Saudi Arabia and the Gaza Strip quickly became populist risings, with heavy support from the local populations. Uprisings in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria and Iraq faced heavy military resistance, but in the confusion of the initial uprisings government forces were unable to mount proper defences. Only in Afghanistan and Pakistan were the uprisings a failure, due to the lack of popular support and quick reaction of the local militaries. The Incursion quickly became a great cause for concern to the UN Security Council, with Saudi Arabia, Syria and Iraq capitulating to the GLI within a week. The ensuing war utterly destroyed the Middle East, mass waves of refugees from liberated GLI territory flooded Europe, the Mediterranean, and India. After the war was over the Middle East was never fully rebuilt, as by that point the majority of global funding was being directed, by popular opinion, to the star ship design and construction
