History
Formed in the aftermath of the Great Resource War, the UNCPW was created by Executive Order 771 of the UN Security Council (UNSC). The wing was originally intended to be made of up of test pilots for the X series of aircraft, the XF and XT projects. However, the incredibly advanced nature of these projects led the UNSC to change the role of the UNCPW to a fully fledged combat unit.
By the time of GLI Incursions, UNCPW Squadrons had taken part in multiple special operations missions and had become battle hardened soldiers. They were viewed by the UNSC as the most valuable asset to maintaining world peace. The combat squadrons in the wing recieved Ganthium Armour Systems (GAS) developed by Centurion Research and Development . These were incredibly resilient and powerful suits of armour, weighing little more than a UN Peacekeepers standard gear. The suits featured an integrated Heads up Display, similar to what many of the youthful members were used to seeing in Video Games of the time. The suits also had access to Organic Dark Matter Manipulation. The end result of the ODMM is the development of Dark Matter powers by the wearer, based on their Dark Matter Value. Different powers are given to different people, with some having only 1 power in the suit, while others have a range of up to 5 powers. To further increase the abilities
The use of the highly advanced X series aircraft and the GAS suits against the GLI bought the UNCPW some level of infamy within in the GLI, with many refering to them as Winged Terrors, and the mere sight of them on a battlefield enough to signal the end of any GLI occupation there. Without the Centurion Wing, the Incursions would have gone on for many more years than they did.
The UNCPW also played a pivotal role in the Keplarian Invasion of 2045, helping to cover Evacuation sites in London and spearheading the counter-attack in both Paris and London. Centurion Thomas Challenger also single-handedly rescued the Archer Family from one of the Keplarian Destroyers. Without the UNCPW, it is highly unlikely that Humanity would have survived the invasion, and the UN recognised this. A special memorial was erected in Switzerland and identical ones in Canary Wharf in London and under the Eiffel Tower in Paris too, to honour the sacrifice of the 14 UNCPW pilots who lost their lives in the Invasion.

Disbandment
In 2046, authority of the UNCPW was handed to the Emergency Planetary Union (EPU). It was swiftly reformed into the Centurion Wing, and became subject to the largest single-unit expansion in Human military history.
