Ivory Congregation Organization in Beyond Greater Anghor - A Middle Earth Adventure | World Anvil

Ivory Congregation

Specter of Evil

Free Folk of the Wilderlands know of The Circle of Dragons, speaking in hush tones of their fanatical rites, multicolored robes, and their oft feared but rarely witnessed use of other worldly magic. Flames of the Dragon seemingly follow the group wherever they travel, and more than a few wanderers have fallen victim to strange rituals that invoke the catastrophic drakes, banes of all just creatures of Middle Earth. Though their true intentions may be obscured, their alliance with Easterlings, Orcs, and other agents of the dark ones precludes their pursuit of any just objectives.

Veiled In Myth

In the small kingdom of Greater Anghor, it then came as a surprise that another group claimed to be the true origin of this religion; druids wearing similar robes - though clad only in stark white instead of multicolor - forming similar circles, and chanting similar hymns and incantations. But these people swore their intentions virtuous, and what's more, pledged, to Ivor the Sheriff of Anghor Dum, and Lady Elanna the realm's baroness, they would uphold the strictest oaths to the lands of Anghor, promising to depose The Circle of Dragons and reclaim their druidic principles that had been so perverted.

Book of Letters

Recently, adventurers came into possession of an ancient text written in an primitive Anghor dialect. The text became an object of intense curiosity within the Congregation's inner circle, and through a joint partnership with the scholar Eschelon, the tome was partly translated. Its title The First Book of Letters hints at more to come, but most striking was the revelation of five ancient clans, collectively called the Heorrenda, implied to be the first people of Anghor, and perhaps, even the Forodwaith beyond. The Ivory Congregation's leadership, Isador Barlow chief Priestess first among them, now claim the Ivory Congregation's heritage through these clans. Doubt persists however, as more books may reveal deeper secrets, and perhaps a greater connection between friend and foe.
