Silas Wanamay

Farmboy from Elmont. Has probably the foulest mouth on any human being left in existence. Saul confronted Prof. Charles Volk as he approached the Connely Farm, pointing an old Earth That Was shotgun at him from an upstairs window. Yelling out a string of curses, expletives, bravado, and commands, Silas finally walked Volk back to where Katy Sage and the rest of the ScrapHawks were waiting on the trail from the The Skree Farm. It was here that he went with Volk to the strange Convergence where Volk had to choose an object tied to the fate of Time itself.    Once they reached the cart and the rest of the group, it was determined that Silas typically pulls this kind of stuff and that the gun isn't even loaded - his father, William "Big Mouth" Wannamay, won the gun long ago in a card game but never has had any ammunition for it. Katy smacked the kid a few times as he mouth began to run and this eventually make him fall sullen and silent. Once back at the Connely Farm, Silas retreated upstairs and was quickly forgotten about as the group tended to their own needs and Dundee Washington, who was still mumbling and unconscious. Silas isn't seen until the group is just about to leave, Katy suddenly remembering that he was here in the house with them. A search is made and Silas is found hiding in a small chest-of-drawers in one of the shared bedrooms used by the on-site farm hands. He is white and very pale, with frightened eyes and, uncharacteristically, not saying a word. Katy carries him down to the truck and stays with him during the ride to Elmont. He hasn't said a word since Marcus Bendforth and The Deep Lake Stone came to the farm.
