Iron Dwarves

Iron Mountain Dwarves are bold and hardy. They are known as skilled warriors, miners, and workers of stone and metal. Though they stand under 5 feet tall, dwarves are so broad and compact that they can weigh as much as a human standing nearly two feet taller. Their courage and endurance are also easily a match for any of the larger folk.

Elder Race

Iron Dwarves are among the "First Born," the races first created on Beren'Dor by the gods. At least, that is true as as far as anyone has been able to discover. They share that status with the Elda and the Gnomes. It is unclear on whether or not there are other races on Beren'Dor that share this unique status, though it is generally believed that there may be two or three others.

Kin, Clan & King

Iron Dwarves are loyal to their own, sometimes to a fault. Their motto, "Kin before Clan, Clan before King, King before everyone else." accurately depicts the priority of their loyalties. They are loyal to their Kin, Clan, and King before everyone and anything else, in that order.

Iron Dwarf Clans

Dwarven society is a clan-based society. There are major and minor clans, all vying for position. The Elder of each Major Clan serves on the king’s council. The King is decided by both the Trial of Kings, and a final vote cast by the Elder of every Dwarven clan, Major or Minor.
