Commander Brutus Maximi (a.k.a. Maximus)

Upbringing

Brutus Maximi grew up as a typical Draconian: Study warfare from a young age, work towards physical perfection, and join the military. As he fought in countless battles with the Draconian Military, his combat prowess grew exponentially, and he climbed through the ranks at lightning speed.

Upon reaching the highest non-commanding rank attainable in the Draconian Military, he was immediately recommended as a General, and within a year his position as a top official in the military was cemented.

Upon the death of the previous Draconian Military Commander, a vote was cast among the top ranks of the military, and Brutus was the clear victor.

Commander Maximus

As the Commander of the Draconian Military, Maximus would be a vital part of the Empire's sudden expansion strategies, conquering lands to increase the nation's wealth and resources.
His victories and accomplishments became a thing of legend, and his respect among the Draconian Empire could not be stronger.

It is rumored the attack on Sovereign was his doing, even with an official statement by Draconian Emperor Tulian, it was unlike the Emperor to attack nations the Empire had business dealings with.

Death and Legacy

Commander Maximus would ultimately be killed during the Sacking of the Draconian City. His body was found on the balcony outside the Emperor's Assembly.

An investigation done by the Draconian Archives indicated that he had fought from the throne room, through the assembly, and to the balcony, given the large trails of blood across the building. His wounds were countless, with a severed Achilles, lacerations to the stomach and back, and the likely fatal blows being a series of deep stab wounds to the neck and chest. By the appearance of his body, it would seem he fought down to the last breath.


With both Emperor Tulian and Commander Maximus dead, the resulting power vacuum would ultimately cause the Empire to dissolve back into warring city-states, disregarding the natural successors to the positions and claiming they are the true heirs to the throne.

While Maximus was partially blamed for not detecting the raid incoming, his legacy as a brilliant Commander would go down in legend. No other individual comes close to his numerous accomplishments and victories.
