Remanio

A Remanio is a Vistana who chooses to forego the nomadic lifestyle, and settle in place. Though this is seen as a freely allowed thing to occur within the wider Vistani culture, it does seperate the individual somewhat from their communities. As such, Remanio lose connection to the Pact formed between their people and Strahd von Zarovich — thus meaning they cannot freely leave Barovia — though they maintain their ancestral magics.
Being Remanio is a transient property, and all that is required to lose this status is the embrace of a Vistani elder. Returnees are labelled "Vani," and welcomed back as average Vistani once more.
