Fourth Mistfall

The Fourth Mistfall is the fourth instance of Strahd von Zarovich being "slain," only to ressurect three nights later. This Mistfall began with the agitation of a figure known only as The Firebrand, who rallied a rebellion consisting of Barovians from Barovia, Solec, Krezk, and Vallaki, who attacked Castle Ravenloft, and managed to defeat its Dread Lord.
As with all Mistfalls, after Strahd was killed, the Mists surrounding the County of Barovia retreated, and the valley's citizens were free to leave. As usual, however, few did so for they knew the repurcussions that would be visited upon them. When Strahd returned three nights later — as he always does — the Mists returned with him, and the Mistborn have been drawn back into the County.
The Firebrand seems to have fled beyond the knowledge of anyone in Barovia — and is actively being hunted by Strahd and his minions — and the other agents of the rebellion have either gone into hiding, or have already been dealt with. The Old Svalich Road is currently staked with the flayed remains — some still twitching — of those who fled the valley during the Mistfall, and others who were involved in the raid on Castle Ravenloft.
