D'Lira Clan
The d'Lira Clan is a Vistani family native to the Barovia, who travel the roads of the county and beyond. The d'Liras are known to be close with Madam Eva, with many of their number acting as Fetchers or helpers for her directly.
The d'Lira Clan are fierce friends of the Heroes after offering them hospitality on the evening of the 1st of Second Moon, 735 ME, and being gifted in return a bottle of Martikov, 701 ME (the same as that given to the Heroes by Strahd von Zarovich).
History
The d'Lira Clan is so named for their ancestor, Timotei d'Lira (Lim. 'the Coin'), who was a famous confidence trickster in the early years of the County's history after the Mists arrived. It is believed that, starting from nothing by a single iron coin, Timotei managed to deal and hustle his way into acquiring the deed to the Wachter House, the then-largest estate in Vallaki.
Refusing to relinquish the deed and claiming foul play — quite rightly — Timotei was instead cast out of the city by the Wachters. It is claimed by many that this insighting incident is the origin of the Vistani Ban on entry into Vallaki. Furthermore, the d'Lira Clan, to this day, claim Wachter House is theirs by "conquest of cleverness."
