Kingdom of Shimmerlake
Shimmerlake is a human centric military power that arrived on Dimistas 200 years ago. They have a rough relationship with the dwarves to the west. The past 200 years has been dotted with conflicts between the two and the elves further west.
The current King, Darius is the second son of the previous king, a young man of 17, he rules with the guidance of his Uncle and the two churches.
The city itself takes advantage of the Iron and other minerals in the hills and around the lake.
Being the major seat of human power in the area. The capital houses many of the best tradesmen in the area outside of Twin River.
Culture
The culture is human centric, though the other races are not treated unfairly or unequally, this is simply where the bulk of humans settled. The lake the city sits on the edge of provides both fish the sustain the people and magic material for reasearh at the magical college.
History
Arriving by boat onto Dimistas 200 years ago, Humans, Tieflings and Halflings came seeking a place to build a new life. Worshipping the Storm Lord, these ocean faring newcomers settled quickly on the coast and soon came into conflict with the local Dwarves and Elves. Eventually pushing the dwarves out of the hills and deeper into the mountains and the Elves even further beyond. Building up their capitol alongside a great lake with unique mineral deposits along it's bottom, they dubbed the city Shimmerlake for the way the lake seemed to glow during the right times of day.
Eventually after a few more smaller scale conflicts, the humans were able to come to a non aggression pact with the dwarves as long as they did not encroach upon the mountains. The Elves however still hold themselves at war with the races east of the mountain range. It is thought that the elves of the west were the ones responsible for the death of the late king and his oldest son when the cart came under attack from darkly clad figures with magic and demonic thralls.
The kingdom of Shimmerlake owns the the land from the southmost port up to the town of Mewood. While they have a pact of non aggression, the dwarves do not treat or trade with the human city.
Military
Shimmerlake has a standing military, supplimented by weapons researched and created by the Degonia College. During times of conflict they also rely on recruits from the more rural areas to fill the ranks as well as those who live within the city. There is a strong military tradition within the city amongst it's more noble families, with most serving in some capacity or another, this is leaned into as the most widly worshipped diety is Kord.

Trade is conducted in copper silver and gold mostly, a holdover from their home across the sea. While they do mint some new currency, the gold between Shimmerlake and the Accord is interchangeable. With coins typically being minted in the current ruler's likeness.
