Knights of the Orchard
The knights of the orchard is a militant order that serves the church of the Church of the Dawn. Its membership is much smaller in Renelestre than in Althetas where it holds status as a quasi-fraternal organisation in any town of more than a few hundred souls.
Public Agenda
Their stated aims are nurturing the faithful, and culling the wicked.
They are very involved locally in setting up healthcare services and providing teaching around both morality and agriculture in their local communities. They are also known for their many orchards which produce wine up and down the Althetan hill country.
Demography and Population
Membership in total is estimated to be somewhere between five and eight thousand men, though the actual fighting capability of the force is also much more varied than other knightly orders, with many of the membership functioning in a more local, militia-like capacity. The Knights of the orchard also have a much higher percentage of bureaucratic office holders than other orders. This means that the estimated fighting force of the knights of the orchard lies somewhere between three and four thousand, with still less of that number being veteran status.
Territories
The Orchard are very prevalent all through the Principality of Althetas, but have a presence in Renelestre and are not an unexpected sight throughout both Parensatia and Vistara.
