Iyos (EYE-oss)

Filled with a variety of biomes, from dangerous swamps, tropical forests, snowy mountains and extensive grasslands, the continent of Iyos contains an extensive assortment of indigenious species; humanoids, monster and beasts. The animalistic races which rule over these lands are no less intelligent than their human, elven or dwarven counterparts, but are considered primitive and lesser by many outsiders from these lands. However, these races are eager to trade with the peoples of Iyos due to the vast array of natural resources and untapped potential lies within these lands.

Localized Phenomena

Seasons on the Iyosian continent operates much like every other continent on Azure. Spring-Summer-Fall-Winter-Spring. However, that is where the similarities to all other continents end. Unlike all other continents, Iyos seasons operate in such a way that breaks the natural cycle and laws of the world. When it should be winter it is summer. Spring is fall and vice-versa. Despite endless amounts of research from some of the greatest minds in the world, no one can explain how or why this happens with any level of certainty.
During what should be the winter months, Iyos experiences unprecidented warmth and daylight equivilent to that of a landmass with an equivilent longitude in the Northern hemisphere. While the planets axis tilts to cause the seasonal differences between the Northern and Southern hemispheres, Iyos seems to ignore this and gets all of the relevant weather, sunlight and heat as if it was located in the Northern hemisphere and not the South.
