Sinsear Forest (sin-shar)
The Sinsear Forest is a large wooded area in central Ayndrinor, situated around Lake Sildar. It is bounded by the Backbone Spires to the east, the Sinsear Mountains in the north, and plains to the west and south. Most of the forest is made of deciduous and temperate trees, such as oaks and elms, though areas closer to the mountains - especially in the north - tend to have quite a few conifers as well.
This forest is the home of the sacred tree, Crann Sinsear, as well as the elven kingdom of Crann Riocht. The capital city exists around the sacred tree, and two other major towns exist in the forest along with numerous uncharted hamlets and villages. Crann Riocht does not claim all of the forest as their territory, only the area around their towns and between the far-flung towns and the capital. The northwestern and southern edges of the forest are open to use for the neighboring kingdoms - Oestbernia and The Dale respectively. The Oestbernian city of Madera sits on the forest's west-northwestern edge, where it quickly thins and the land turns to plains. To the south, the Dalian town of Lesgorod is on the forest's edge, and logging is a major industry in the town.
