Múr (myur)
The Shieldbearer
Múr, the God of Righteous Sacrifice and Protection, is one of the most noble deities in existence, according to how most people view his followers and his message. His paladins are dedicated not only to protecting the innocent but also to studying the enemy and stopping them in their tracks before they can hurt anyone. The constant vigilance required for this task makes followers of Múr frequent comrades of diviners and seers, as well as sages and scholars. The prototypical scholarly soldiers, these paladins often find themselves employed to protect large cities, to bring violent criminals to justice in conjunction with priests of Eamon, or as traveling mercenaries who go where they are needed around the countryside.
Múr was born of a union between Morgran and Olmytria, both of whom were Deirid and progeny of The Four themselves. Múr is therefore one of the very few third-generation deities in existence, joining his half-sister Lachra (the daughter of Morgran and Zyntrani) and Níamorr(the son of Eamon and Toldrun). Múr has joined his cousin Lachra in many celestial tournaments, and the two are near equals in martial skill. Though he would be loathe to admit it, Lachra is the more skilled fighter any day of the week, and Múr would have to get lucky to beat her on her bad days.

Tenets of Faith
- Protect the innocent at all costs, even if it means laying down one's life.
- When placed in a no-win situation, pursue whichever course of action - no matter how difficult - that will protect or preserve the most lives.
- Study the evildoers and prepare to dispatch them quickly when you meet.
- Do not wantonly use violence to solve violence. But when violence is needed, be ruthless and leave no doubt as to the victor.
- Hold your weapon when necessary. Try to negotiate peacefully if possible. If negotiation is impossible or your target is a denizen of the negative planes, do not give them a chance to worm into your thoughts.
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Múr is typically depicted as a mountain of a man with a long black beard poking out from under his armored helm. He is usually clad in plate armor and carries a heavy weapon - often referenced as a warhammer - and a stout shield. He is the standard most he-men and novice soldiers try to live up to, while more seasoned veterans prefer the leaner look of Lachra. The few sources who claim to have seen Múr without his helm attest that he has a scar running diagonally across his face from his forehead down to one corner of his jaw.
