Eliska's Fields

The most important farm for the capital of the Grand Duchy of Vychod.

Overview

Eliska's Fields is a large farming operation known for coffee- the farm is the largest coffee farm on the Quassus Continent and the only such farm for several leagues. The farm also grows avocados and sugar.
This farm is arguably the greatest economic asset for the Artistic City of Plátno along with the city's dye and salt operations. The prices for this produce reflect its high demand among Platno citizenry- which is to say that prices are very high.
This high price does not seem to have discouraged the aristocrat and merchant classes of the Free City of Centrum, who have grown rather fond of the drink. Demand for coffee

Founder of the Farm

The farm was founded by Drahomíra Eliska in 1030AGC, and the farm has been owned by the family ever since its founding. The founding of this operation predates the founding of the Grand Duchy of Východ. The farm lies within the territory of the Grand Duchy today. Some say that the farm's products had much to do with giving Platno the economic leverage it needed to establish the new sovereign state. The current owner of the farm is Jeroným Eliska.

Running out of Coffee?

Rumor has it that the fertility of the soil of Eliska's Fields has been slowly deteriorating. If true, this will have an adverse effect on the farm's ability to produce coffee as well as other kinds of produce. It is possible that this deterioration will accelerate should nothing be done. This rumor has yet to be confirmed and, understandably, many simply wish that such an unfortunate happening is not happening.
