Ferellian (Feh-rell-ee-in)
Basic Information
Anatomy
Ferellians are a bipedal humanoid race, every one being mechanically modified from birth to augment their physical abilities and to allow them to survive in the harsh environments they constantly put themselves in. They gain muscle mass very quickly, and their hulking frames are modified with machines that are a strange mix of advanced technology and more industrial diesel powered mechanics. The machines fused with an individual varies, but typically there is a metal plate cover their face with 4 robotically enhanced eyes as well as armor-like plating covered vital areas and lung augmentations to allow breathing in toxic environments. Their torsos also contain a bio engine to power auxiliary systems with smokestacks protruding from the back of the Ferellian to let off exhaust and more holy fumes. Lastly, metal, rubber, and plastic tubes run through their bodies, inside and out, transporting lifeblood, coolant, fuel, waste, etc.
Genetics and Reproduction
Female Ferellians are often too modified by machines to allow for the carrying of babies, and thus Ferellian infants are grown in gestation pods.
Growth Rate & Stages
Ferellian fetuses usually gestate in their pods for around 15 years, allowing for modifications to be made to their growing bodies as well as information to be downloaded into their brains before they emerge.
Ecology and Habitats
Hostile environments are where Ferellians thrive, due to their tough, acid-proof skin. This is fortunate, as the Sacred Ferellian Crusade terraforms every planet they come across with toxic and acidic gasses in the name of their god.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Due to their biological mouthes often being covered by their metal faceplates, Ferellians absorb food through feeding tubes or otherwise sustenance is generated by their internal bio-generators that are run by fuel that must be fed regularly itself.
