Vampire Queens

The Vampire Queens are the most esoteric goddesses one can find on Phoenix. Each queen is the progenitor of each of the different species of vampire. The reverence that the creatures of the night held for their elders was enough to elevate them to divine status. The queens rarely interact with the other pantheons and prefer to rule from their castles deep in the Cryptlands of Phoenix, where the light of Phoenix's twin suns cannot touch them.

Non-vampiric worshipers of the Vampire Queens are exceedingly rare, and finding them on the surface of Phoenix is rarer still. Worshipers typically form temples and organized religions to serve their goddesses. Vampiric worshipers will typically hunt for their victims in groups and offer up the best of their hunts to their queens.

Structure

Unlike the other pantheons, the Vampire Queens do not work well with one another and avoid each other when possible. Each queen believes herself to be the pinnacle of vampirism. Interactions between their kingdoms quickly devolve into heated arguments over who should be considered the ruler of the pantheon.

History

The Vampire Queens are ancient; many of them are even antediluvian. Each Queen is the progenitor of their species.

Vampires are typically quite prideful and do not show reverence lightly. As the population grew and changed, many started to believe that they should praise their progenitors for their dark powers. Thus, the progenitors became known as queens and their fellow vampires honored them as royalty. As centuries passed, royalty became divinity.

In the present day, many fear the threat of vampiric churches. A single vampire acting on its own has devastated communities, but what multiple powerful vampires could do working in tandem is a bone chilling thought for the mortals of Phoenix. Some Phoenixians fear that the vampiric temples could wipe out entire nations if they wanted.
