Written by FirethornDragon

The Sedannu Festival is an annual grand celebration in Nun Thoram, the capital city. This festival provides an opportunity for dwarfs, also known as ekes, to showcase their extraordinary skills and craftsmanship to the world, honoring the remarkable engineering feats and inventions of Oblon. The festival is a source of pride for the dwarfs and is taken very seriously by them.         During the Sedannu Festival, various competitions are held to showcase the skills of the dwarfs in metalworking, woodworking, and engineering challenges. Experts judge these competitions, and the winners are granted titles in those fields that last for the rest of the year. For instance, the winner of the metalworking competition is called "Master of Metal."         At the end of the day, after the intense competition, the dwarfs exchange handmade gifts with each other. These gifts are crafted with great care and skill by the dwarfs themselves. It is considered disrespectful to gift someone with a purchased item during the Sedannu Festival. This tradition is so vital that if a dwarf is caught giving a purchased gift during the holiday, they will be banned from using the forges for the rest of the year. This rule applies to everyone in Oblon, including visitors and foreigners.         The Sedannu Festival is a time for the dwarfs to unite and celebrate their culture and traditions by sharing their knowledge and skills. Visitors and foreigners also get an opportunity to experience the rich culture and history of the dwarfs. This is why giving away a purchased gift is considered disrespectful.

History

The Sedannu Festival began after the war between Oblon and the Long Xae Dynasty. Sedannu, a dwarf, created the festival a year after the war to bring happiness to her fellow dwarfs. Initially, some dwarfs did not understand the festival's purpose. However, Sedannu explained the competitions and titles that would be awarded, and they began to appreciate it.         The festival became popular and has since been celebrated at the end of every year in Oblon. It is a time of joy and merriment for dwarfs who participate in competitions like axe-throwing, beard braiding, and stone-tossing. Those who perform exceptionally well are given titles such as "Master of the Axe" or "Champion of the Stone."         In addition to the competitions, the festival is also an opportunity for dwarfs to showcase their crafts and skills. Artisans and blacksmiths show off their creations while musicians and storytellers entertain the crowds. The festival has become a significant part of dwarven culture, symbolizing the resilience of the dwarven people in the face of adversity.

During the Day

The Sedannu Festival is an annual event in the capital city, Nun Thoram, and is one of the most anticipated celebrations in the dwarven community. The festival starts early in the morning and lasts until nightfall. It offers a day filled with various competitions and festivities, making it fun for all who attend.         The festival provides an excellent opportunity for dwarfs from all over Oblon and beyond to come together and showcase their skills, participate in various competitions, mingle with other dwarfs, exchange ideas, and learn about different cultures.         The Sedannu Festival is not only limited to local dwarfs but also attracts visitors such as travelers, merchants, and dwarfs from other dwarven countries who join the celebrations and contests. When the Sun Sets

As the sun sets on Nun Thoram, marking the end of a long day of intense competition, the dwarfs gather to partake in an age-old gift exchange tradition. It is a moment of great significance, the only time the dwarfs come together to celebrate as a community during the darkest hour of the day. At this time, the forges around Nun Thoram are lit in warm colors, creating a stunning display that resembles the northern lights.         Even those unable to travel to the capital to participate in the Sedannu Festival light their forges at this hour, creating a sense of togetherness and solidarity that transcends physical distance. It is a symbol of the unbreakable bond that exists between dwarfs, no matter where they are in the world. The gift exchange is more than just a simple tradition; it is a reminder of the importance of community and the knowledge that, no matter what, you are not alone.
