Melgra Lantern

In the dark caves around Aurin is a unique plant species called Melgra. This plant is fascinating as it is a natural light source for the elves. Unlike humans, elves do not use fire as a light source, and that's where Melgra comes in handy.

The Melgra plant has a distinctive blue light emanating from its center, which works like a lantern or fire for the elves. However, this plant requires special care to grow and thrive. It needs an open lantern made of wood, allowing the Melgra plant to climb around it as it pleases. The lantern bed has water, not for the plant itself, but for the light it emits. The water helps to reflect the blue light more, making it shine brighter and illuminating the cave. At the top of the lantern's interior is a hook for the Melgra plant to cling to for its base.

If adequately cared for this plant, the lantern can be passed down with the same Melgra plant for generations. The Melgra plant benefits the elves and is a beautiful sight to behold in the dark depths of the Aurin caves.
