Irden was left in the streets of Kecklerstead as a child, and grew up stealing whatever she could get her hands on to barter in exchange for food or a place to sleep.
The man she generally sold items to took a special interest in books, and Irden was gradually taught how to read by him. Over time, she got into the habit of reading the books before selling them off, resulting in an eclectic collection of knowledge, mostly historical in nature. Eventually, she got her hands on a spell book, and taught herself how to use it, before leaving Kecklerstead in search of more knowledge and power.

In mid February 1004 she accidentally activated The Tablet of Calling.
On the 20th of February 1004 she defiled a blessed tomb and was cursed with Vampirism by Innos.
