Ivan Vanko
Mr. Ivan Vanko (a.k.a. Whiplash)
Son of the physicist Anton Vanko, disgraced industrial spy who was imprisoned by the Soviet Union, after he failed to deliver any Atlantan trade secrets, including the working prototype of the Arc Reactor.
Ivan, desite being born in Atlantis, was deported with his father. He spent childhood in various orphanages and reformatories. During his studies at Moscow University, he was caught preparing explosives for the dissidents and sentenced for 30 years improsonment. After his release, he reconnected with his father.
He met lord Anthony de Stark in Monaco, where he demanded acknowledgment and financial retribution for the Arc Reactor technology. When Stark-Carbonell Industries refused his demands, claiming that Tony de Stark's original design was used, Vanko struck a deal with Justin de Hammer, to create an alternative Arc Reactor.
