Oathkeeper's Shade of Fate
While the party is distracted by the box and other interesting things on the desk, they hear a crunch behind them. Someone taking a bite out of the apple. Behind them stands a tall-ish, lean figure, clad in black and rich browns. They’re dressed similarly to an Aegis Syndicate Agent. Their mask only covers half their face. Their skin is charcoal, with cracks of white showing through as if they’re wearing makeup. A toothy smily crosses their mouth, showing of their blindly white teeth, their pointed canines. They take another bite out of the apple and greet you by name in a strange and discordant voice. As this being moves, you notice darkness trailing behind them, like smoke from a flame. Their voice strangely smooth, strangely familiar, strangely foreign. You get nearly nostalgic hearing them talk, as if they’re an old friend. The longer you look, the more human they look. The way they stand, the way they walk and talk, feels as if they were just an interesting stranger you met in the Sleeping Owlbear.
