Wyldspace Episode 1: Planet of the Incredible Edible Green Goo

Scene 1

[Outer space view of an interesting Earth-like blue planet, Pan to starry dusty sky] A circular distortion appears and magnifies the stars inside the torus. A faint distant point of light in the exact center enlarges until it can be seen to be a space ship coming through the warped doughnut torus.

[Rotate to Side View] The ship is big. It is slowly coming out of the doughnut torus ring of warped space.

[Alternate views between continuation of ship emerging and views of concerned determined faces of a space woman (the captain), a leader-type male (the chef), and other crew members] (All but the captain are buckled into seats.)

[side view] It emerges (screen left to right) from the warped space at high speed but still takes a while. just as the aft end comes out, the warp torus shudders. the distortion pulls back and shrinks away to nothing. a potion of the back of the ship is ripped off and pulled back, gently drifting backward in space. <alarm klaxxon> 3 closeups of space women's laps and one shirtless man ( bare chest only) as they disconnect safety belts. <klaxxon continues> [view of flooring as many feet run right to left] female boots, male boots, Female Boots, pause, FB, Male Bare Feet, FB, MBF, FB, pause, FB, FB.

[outside back of ship] robot arms emerge from contiguous ship and reach toward largest part of broken tail. Female pilot in mostly transparent 1-man tug captures smaller debris with 6 robotic arms and sticks them to a central magnet. further back, a bare-chested and bare legged man operates another tug, and a third tug too far away to tell the occupant.

 

Scene 2

[interior space ship, dolly following action] A sonic technician (a barefoot long-haired central European male in a white fundoshi and white headband with a large set of white headphones covering his ears and holding a small display pad in his hands) is scanning ship corridor for bad sounds while retrofuturistic silver Andy the Android mops and dusts. A tug passes the window. (On his chest over his heart is a tattoo of concentric circles where a sherriff's badge would be.)

[closeup, tracking action] He is alarmed to find one bad sound. <whistling> He excitedly grabs Andy and points at the wall. <hissing sound> Andy smacks his robotic face into the crack. <sound stops> Andy disconnects his neck and grows a new head...

[extreme macro zoom] ...from tiny nano-machines, squarish white pieces emerge from his otherwise hollow neck and connect themselves to rebuild his neck.

[closeup] Andy's head regrows until it is as before.

[medium view] Sonic Tech inspects the repair with his equipment. He nods to Andy. Andy moves on and resumes cleaning. <Buzz!> Sonic quickly looks at his display pad.

[closeup pad] Dialogue box says, "AWAY".

[closeup face] He is surprised and happy to see it. This could be the chance of a lifetime.

[wide view of hallway] He excitedly runs barefoot down the hallway.

 

Scene 3

[interior, small workstation, wide view zooming in and tracking action] A skinny but well-defined young black man in a yellow fundoshi and yellow headband sits in an office chair with a round work table surrounding him on three sides. On his chest, where the sonic technician had a tattoo of circles, he has a tattoo of a question mark in a circle. The table is covered with upright displays and a few books and a protractor. He stares at a display with calculus equations, types more mathematics onto it. He turns to another one with a large block of text and quickly types more text at the the bottom. He yawns. He spins around to another display with a picture of a flower and four lines of text. He gestures like he is turning an imaginary flower in his hand and the image rotates on the display. He taps on one of the four lines and it highlights in green. <bing> Another four lines of text appear. He makes an unpinch gesture, and the center of the flower zooms in on the display. <bong> He turns to another display with a molecule shown. He remains leaning toward the plant display, but with his off hand he gestures like he is picking and placing imaginary objects, and the molecule rearranges to match. The molecule turns green. <bing> With his good hand, he selects one of the options on the flower. It highlights green. <bing> A new flower appears. <bong> He looks over his shoulder at the calculus display flashing red. With his off hand he waves a finger and the mathematical symbols rearrange. They flash green. <bing> He returns to the flower display and is about to select one of the options, but before he can touch the screen,... <buzz!> ...a dialogue box pops up saying, "AWAY". He backs away from the screen in surprise. He glances around to see all the screens show the same.

[face to chest] He is surprised and delighted to see it. This could be the chance of a lifetime.

[wide view of room] He jumps out of his seal, the door opens, he runs out it, limping noticeably. (One of his legs is slightly shorter than the other.)

 

Scene 4

[futuristic double door] Doors slide open. <shush> Sonic and Young stand in the doorway with a spacehisp hallway behind them. Sonic gasps at what he sees in the room. Young steps forward before noticing and having the same reaction. After a moment of hesitation, Sonic and then Young continue walking into the room.

[Following them] As they walk into the room and look around, following close to the wall on their left, they see that this massive viewing deck has space for an entire spaceship. ( Young limps on a slightly deformed right ankle. Sonic retains his sonic gear.) The opposite wall to which they walk appears to be open to space. Tugs zip past the viewing window. The interesting planet floats in the distance. They approach on their right a rubenesque woman in renaissance garb (the Quartermistress), attended by small floating holographic fairies who turns from looking out the window to look at them with a smile.

[Head to waist] She waves a magic wand. The tip leaves an holographic trail of light in the air.

[Wide view, Quartermistress on left, Young on right] Ball of light from magic wand strikes ground and a four foot tall holographic triton materializes, rising half-way out of the floor as if it were swimming. It faces QM. She speaks a command to it then looks at a wide panel on the wall close to Young. The triton salutes her, then dives into the water/floor with an holographic splash.

[Sonic and Young by the wall] The triton splashes out of the floor and touches a wide panel on the wall. It slides downward revealing a lit single row of dozens of silver rings of varying sizes from piercing size to bracelet size. One the size of a bracelet is noticably missing due to the empty space.

[Faces to waist] Sonic and Young are delighted to see them. Both reach forward and draw back a silver ring, Sonic's slightly larger than Young's. Sonic happily looks his ring over on both sides while casually slipping the thumb of his off hand into his belt. He turns toward the QM and smiles thankfully, then lowers the ring toward his belly button. Young, after marveling at the ring for a moment, stoops down.

[Floor level] Young has knelt down and slips the ring onto the big toe of his malformed foot. He gestures at his foot with both hands. [extreme macro zoom] The floor is made of tiny squarish robots who link with each other and rise up. [zoom out to Young's foot] They climb onto his foot and reshape into the form of a huge metallic technological boot and change to a stylish color. He stands up with all his weight on it and lifts the other bare foot. A matching boot appears on that foot from similar nanotech material leaping up from the floor.

[Return] Young is proud and pleased to have the very gaudy footwear. Sonic is facing the QM and adjusting his belt. The QM is looking at Sonic's fundoshi with a naughty smirk.

[QM POV, tracking] Sonic touches both index fingers and thumbs together, then stretches out a small rectangle shape in te air with both hands. The flooring material rises up a white tentacle into a display pad at his fingertips supported on a thin post. He scrolls the touch-screen. <clicking sounds> He sees something he likes on the display and taps it <click>. White tendrils rise up from he floor and coat his feet up to the knees, then drip up to merge with his fundoshi and coat his thighs up to his waist. The material on his feet transforms to brown leather boots, and the material at his waist turns into a blue and green plaid kilt. A white sash wraps over his shoulder from behind, forward and down to join the kilt as it changes color to match the plaid pattern. His headphones shrink into small white earbuds then change to match the plaid color. He is pleased with his new look. Meanwhile, Young is able to glide around on the floor behind Sonic; Young's boots seem to act like roller skates.

[QM] The Quartermistress likes both of their choices. She points her wand at the triton now by her side. He dives again.

[Back at the wall] The Triton slides open a lower panel revealing much larger rings. He indicates the largest one. [Quick cuts back and forth] She shakes her head. The second largest? No. The third largest? She nods. He pulls the heavy 12" diameter ring out of the storage slot. He is about to hand it to the men. She shakes her head, then indicates the planet outside the viewing window.

[Wide view, follow and zoom in] The triton swims through the air and through the window. The otherwise invisible window visibly reacts as the ring slides through it.

[closeup QM face] The QM watching the triton turns and looks over her shoulder. [focus shift to back wall] The door slides open, <shush> and rolling in from an extremely brightly lit room is a cheerful chubby slightly-past-middle-age man, half Asian, half Italian, wearing a wreath of green laurel leaves on his head, a leather-belted white Athenian tunic with a red cape pinned to his shoulders by small shoulder pads, a silver bracelet on his left wrist, and a pair of roman sandals on his feet with little tank treads rolling him forward faster than most people walk. (He could be mistaken for the captain of the ship.) His short cape slowly flutters in a nonexistent wind. [focus shift to follow him, slight zoom out] He rolls up beside the QM, waving a smiling salutation to the other two off-screen men. They smile at each other very cheerfully, almost laughing like they share a secret. (The chef and the quartermistress have some kind of relationship thing going.)

 

[wide view in space] The triton turns back to face the ship and holds the ring in both hands. It carefully lets go, and the ring floats in space.

[exterior wide view looking in window] QM, Chef, Sonic, and Young lookout the window happily. [pan down] Pieces and tendrils of white material emit from the ship outward.

[wide view in space] The triton drifts back and upward of the stationary silver ring as the white material solidifies around it and materializes a solid non-holographic space shuttle (the Stinger).

[return to window view, closer] The men are amazed, pleased, and thankful. The QM is happy, but has seen it before. <BING!> All turn to the door from which the chef entered.

 

[Doorway view head to floor] A trio enter a few steps, continuing a conversation. On the left is a retro-futuristic space woman with high fashion makeup. In the center is a tall skinny very old bald man with a long white beard growing down to his knees. He appears to be naked. On his heart is a tattoo of a staff with a single snake climbing around it inside a circle. On the right is Rosie the Riveter carrying a large monkey wrench. At first the man has been speaking and gesturing with one hand. When he finishes, the space woman on the left speaks while pointing to both of them. They both nod and tap an index finger to their temple. The space woman steps forward and looks at the others in the room while Rosie and the head and shoulders of the old man can be seen to turn around and return to the brightly lit room.

[Wide view of others and observation window] Young, Sonic, Chef, and QM salute the off-screen space woman in various completely different shows of respect. (The triton and Stinger float outside the window.)

[closeup] The space woman gives a quick speech, pointing individually to three people, then waving a hand at a large distant subject.

[four others] Young and Sonic turn happily to look at the interesting-looking planet in the distance. The chubby man is happy to hear something and taps the laurel wreath on his head with three fingers. It turns white and morphs into a classic chef's hat. The QM is just listening, unsurprised by any of this.

[return closeup] The space woman is still speaking calmly. An holographic view screen appears by her head. On it, a man in large ear muffs points to something behind him off screen and explains. (On his bare chest is a tattoo of a crescent wrench in a circle.) She stops, thinks a bit, then says something to him. He nods and taps an index finger to his temple, and the holograph disappears. She continues public speaking again.

[return to four others] Young and Sonic turn back, now enthusiastically ready to go. The chef turns to look at the planet.

[return closeup, slow zoom to head to waist] She continues public speaking until interrupted again. Two men run in from the room behind her. The one on her left wears a 20th century business suit, except he is bare chested under the blazer. (His tattoo insignia is a DNA double helix in a circle.) The one on her right has a small silver ring piercing his nose and wears an animal-skin loincloth and vest, he carries a large wide display pad almost like a surf board under his arm. (His insignia is a T-shirt in a circle.) He waits while the man in the suit speaks to the space woman first. The suited man holds up one thumb with a silver thumb ring, and a small holographic display pad appears facing the space woman with two blue paragraphs in blue rectangles. Meanwhile Tarzan holds his wide display panel in front of him at waist level and turns it so the comandress will be able to read the two rows of ten green shapes in green rectangles on his display. She reads Suit's display a moment, then taps one of the two options. It turns green and the other option turns red. The suited man nods and trots back to the brightly lit room. She turns her attention to Tarzan. While Tarzan is interacting with her, three retro-futuristic robots looking vaguely like the chef and vaguely like refridgerators roll in from the open door and roll off-screen toward the chef. Tarzan shows the space woman commandress his display panel, raising it up to chest level. Her eyes perhaps dwell on his loin cloth before looking up to the new location of the display. She scans left and right, looks up in exasperation and back to the options. He says a couple words casually. She closes her eyes, looks away, circles her finger in the air, and picks one at random. It highlights green and the others turn red. He smiles, looking at it from the transparent back side. She looks at her selection and is horrified. She quickly clicks on a different selection and it highlights instead. He is pleased either way. She nods for him to go. He happily runs off with the answer. She turns back to the others, and is startled to see them.

[Return] They all blink once in unison.

[Return] She points at the planet and mouths the word, "Go!"

[Return] The three men react at once. Sonic and Chef salute with one finger to the temple, then turn and run right up to the window. Young jumps for joy first, then does the same, catching up to the others at the window. The QM watches the men pleasantly.

[Just outside window, head to ankles] The three men almost in unison place their index fingers and thumbs together, then stretch out a rectangle in the air. Simultaneously, three white tendrils rise from the floor and form a white rectangle for each man. Each taps a selection on a different location on his rectangle. <3 clicks> The window warps three shapes outward. [camera pulls back slightly and sidesteps and turns to follow] The chef on the left rolls forward into a rectangular glass fishtank which separates from the viewing deck window and drifts forward. His cape continues to slowly flutter in a nonexistent wind. Sonic in the middle steps forward into zero gravity and floats in the middle of a glass cut-diamond shape. His hair floats about gently as does his kilt. His arms float out beside him. On the Left, Young skates forward into a cylinder with a flat bottom and drifts forward faster than the other two. The Chef turns his head, and his rectangular environment turns until he is looking back at the window.

[closeup] Chef blows a kiss.

[closeup] QM smiles and blows a kiss back.

[Wide view] The three men drift quickly to the Stinger and the Triton hologram, followed by the Chef's three robots, which simply pass through the window with no portable environment.

[interior head to thigh] The Commandress and QM watch them leave. The holographic display with the man with the ear muffs reappears next to the commandress' head. She holds a hand with fingers splayed out over it. She turns to the QM inquisitively. QM turns to her and nods confidently. (The man on the display tries to peek around the fingers.) The commander nods once approvingly to QM, then turns and walks out with the holographic display following her. The QM looks back at the men. She smiles at them, now a little less confident, a little worried, and she crosses her fingers.

 

Scene 5

[exterior on top of the Stinger] The three men arrive directly above the windshield of the Stinger in their conveyors, Young first. The holographic triton smiles at Young, taps an index finger to his temple in a wave goodbye, and disappears from the top down. Young crouches a bit. His glass cylinder takes that as a signal and descends to touch the windshield, to merge together with it, and to slide Young into the shuttle. He can bee seen floating in zero gravity through the windshield. Sonic does the same, but as he starts to descend, he waves one hand to push down his kilt in front. Last, the Chef touches down on the windshield and stops to look at the roof of the Stinger.

[over Chef's shoulder] The three robots plug into a solid surface on the roof of the Stinger and slowly descend much like the men are doing.

[return] Chef enters the Stinger and his conveyance merges into the windshield.

[interior] The three men float about in microgravity and climb to three different seats and belt themselves down, Sonic in the pilot seat, Young in the copilot seat, Chef behind them. Sonic's hair and kilt give him troubles in microgravity, Chef's cape seems to ignore reality.

[Young's display] Young places six fingers on his display and makes indecipherable gestures. An image of the planet appears, rotating. Young touches a spot on the globe. A dotted line appears approaching the planet and looping it four times before landing on the X.

[Head to waist] Sonic leans over and looks at Young's display. He centers back into his seat, and steers the Stinger.

[exterior, rear of shuttle] The engines fire. <Woosh!> It accelerates forward harshly.

[closeup] Sonic moves the controls.

[exterior side view] The ship rotates top forward, and the retro rockets push the shuttle [rotate view] now upward to the planet. <fisss!> Small rocks floating in space regularly hit the shuttle and bounce off.

[wide interior] They are pressed down in their seats. Sonic's hair and kilt feel gravity. Chef undoes his safety belt, stands up, smiles, and walks to the galley. Sonic also unfastens, stretches, and walks in back.

[galley, head to waist] As Chef grows a white cutting utensil, one of his robots approaches the work table, opens up its chest showing that it is full of food. It dumps various fresh ingredients on the table. Chef prepares the meal onboard the shuttle (as they slowly descend to the planet's surface.)

[adjoining room, head to toe] Sonic is peeking in on the Chef. He steps back when he sees that dinner is being prepared. He crouches down and does a few pushups, then a few burpies.

[copilot seat] Young is surrounded by the same school displays as earlier, switching from one to another. He spends more time on the plant quiz than any of the others.

[closeup] Chef rings a triangular silver dinner bell.

[wide view] Chef sits down at the dinner table and the dinner bell in his hand turns into a fork. The silver strike he used to ring the bell morphs into a steak knife. Sonic enters quickly followed by Young. They take their seats and all take great joy devouring the banquet.

 

Scene 6

[exterior wide] The stinger enters the atmosphere and slowly descends.

[cockpit] Sonic and Young fiddle with controls.

[display] Chef looks over maps and tiny text and charts of oxygen levels, etc. He selects a spot on the map. <beep>

[cockpit] They glance back at Chef, and adjust the controls.

[exterior wide] The Stinger descends with retro-rockets to a vegetative area next to a very sandy area.

[exterior front of Stinger, tracking action] For just a moment a round hole opens in the windshield then seals again. <wah...woop> Young jumps through the opening in the windshield, carrying a white box with a handle, looking much like a lunch box. He skates down the front of the shuttle, leaps, and lands on the grassy ground looking all around. He sees something of interest under the ship near the landing gear. He skates to it on the grass and kneels down. (Behind him, Sonic and Chef walk out of the docking plank underneath the ship. Sonic is staring at his display pad as he walks. Chef is taking in the majesty of Nature and is carrying a white lunchbox like Young. One of the Chefbots lumbers behind Chef.) Young ignores them; he is fascinated by a group of cute little plants with bright flowers. Young types on the lunch box with one hand, then sets it down. The handle splits off and forms into a spade. He starts to dig around one of the flowering plants.

 

[head to waist] Chef holds his lunchbox like an accordion and stretches it out. It morphs into a chest harness on him and several mounted displays all aimed for his viewing. Various images and charts appear on the displays, including computerized images of Sonic and Young. He looks around at the world and at the displays.

 

[closeup face, zoom out head to waist, tracking] Sonic's earbuds are tight in his ears. <static and slow regular sonar pings> Sonic's unfocused eyes are scanning the sky left and right absentmindedly. He sweeps his display pad left and right at the ground in front of him as he walks.

 

[wide view from above] Young digs up one of the plants while the remainder of the lunchbox transforms into a dozen plant pots. As Young is lifting the one plant out of the ground, each pot starts to spin rapidly. <bzzzzz>

 

[over Sonic's soulder] <white noise and regular pings> Sonic is walking toward a boulder in the sandy area that looks a bit like the head of an Easter Island Moai statue, but his head is aimed at the sky. His display pad shows a representation that below ground the boulder is actually an entire Moai, and several others are under the sand, mounted to the rooftops of stone buildings.

 

[over Chef's shoulder] Chef sees Sonic's display on one of his displays. He draws a red circle on one of the buildings with his finger, then he types on a display of the ship, then touches and rotates the image of the ship nose-up.

 

[closeup from above at angle] Young's spinning plant pots dig down into the ground with soil filling their interiors. <buzz> They rise up again from the ground half full of dirt. <bzzzz> Young's hands seat the flower into the nearest pot and pick up the pot.

[Young head to toe] He cradles the one potted plant in his arms and stares at the flower, turning it around. Several other flowers are in the ground right in front of him. The ship rizes up behind him and rotates tail down with its landing gear stretching into long legs. <jet engines fire> A terrible gust of dust blows at Young from behind him. The ship lifts off.

 

[wide distant view] The ship drifts over the sandy area with the boulder, kicking up a huge cloud of dust until nothing can be seen. <jet engine sound deepens, then slowly winds down and stops.

 

[return to Young head to toe] The dust cloud dissipates and Young kneels with his eyes tightly shut. He is left with just one potted plant and 11 pots of soil. The remainder of the flowers have blown away. After a moment frozen, he puffs out a frustrated breath and tries to clear the sand from his ear with one finger while still cradling his one flower. <whistle!> He angrily turns to look.

 

[head and shoulders, dolly forward] Sonic and Chef whistle and wave for Young to follow them. Behind them the shuttle is parked in front of an ancient ruins topped with Moai statues. <dramatic music swells>

 

[head to toe, stationary] Sonic and Chef hike forward happily, both now taking in the majesty of this ancient sight. Behind them a frustrated Young rolls forward with his one potted plant. The 11 pots of soil have sprung wheels and follow Young in a single file line.

 

Scene 7

[wide side view] Stinger is parked with boarding plank open. Behind it are several ancient ruins. Sonic and Chef strut toward the front doors of the largest building. Young places his potted plant on the ground and it too grows wheels. All 12 plant pots roll up the boarding plank single file. Young follows the others.

[interior near doorway, pulling back into room] Sonic walks into the darkness, listening not looking, and aiming his pad all around as he goes. Chef stops at the doorway, disconnects one of his displays, and tosses it into the dark room. In mid air, it splits into hoverbots, which fly apart and light up the room. There are many tables with scrolls and books, and there are heiroglyphics on the walls. Sonic seems mainly interested in the walls, floor, and ceiling. Chef throws himself into the documents, speed-reading everything he can see or grab.

[head to table] Chef is frantically speed reading scrolls and pages with great joy. Young slowly rolls up beside him. Chef notices him and starts sharing, pointing to murals and pages, gesturing about how grand it was. [zoom in] Young is interested at first, then he starts to daydream.

[dreamy, wide view] Young is dressed as a pharoah, sitting on his throne. He points to the right. [zip right] <swish> Three women soldiers lift their spears and go marching in the direction he pointed. [zip left] <swish> Pharoah Young points to the left. [zip left] <swish> Three women in chef hats start chopping vegetables and tossing them into a soup pot. [zip right] <swish> Pharoah Young points to himself with his thumbs. Six belly dancer women drape themselves onto him.

[awake, 3-person view, head to table] Sonic has joined (stage left) and looks from Chef, who is gesturing and storytelling, to Young, who is daydreaming, to the front of Young's fundoshi below table level. Sonic waves a hand and interrupts Chef's story. Chef follows Sonic's eyes, and gets the picture; he chuckles at Young. Sonic squeezes his display pad, and it morphs into a flyswatter. He slaps the front of Young's fundoshi below the table. Young snaps out of his daydream and handcovers himself, embarassed. <Yeouch!> Sonic and Chef have a chuckle about it.

[reverse angle, slowly track down] Chef returns to his reading silently this time. Sonic snaps off the flyswatter end and tosses it into the air as it morphs onto a hoverbot and floats. He makes the other end of his flyswatter do the same transformation, then takes off the tartan sash from his kilt, and does the same with it, until he is in a swarm of 10 hoverbots, then he waves his hands and they rise up and scatter, shining laser lights at the walls and ceiling. Meanwhile, Young looks around, rather bored. He watches the others a moment. Then he leans against what looks like a banister hand rail. It falls apart. It is actually a row of ceramic pots with a square stone slab covering the top of each one. He tries to catch the pots as they topple, but one of the pots hits the ground and shatters.

[closeup floor] A weird green goo drips out of the pot onto the floor.

[closeup] Young is curious about it. He lifts the square slab from the top of the next upright pot and peers inside.

[closeup] It is another pot of green goo.

[return to closeup Young] Young continues to peer at it. Chef and Sonic arrive and peer in on either side of him, just as curious. Suddenly they all know what to do, and look up.

[wide view, slow motion] All three (Chef on left, Sonic on right) jump over the row of pots and land around the puddle of green goo on the floor (Young jumps stage right, Sonic jumps stage left with some kilt floating issues as before, Chef jumps to the middle and spins and squats with dramatic cape action). Chef watches data scroll on all his displays. Sonic pulls a piece of his kilt to use as a sensor device and waves it over the goo. Young looks at displays on the tops of his boots and presses a few buttons on them. Chef pulls a butter knife out and scrapes up some of the goo. Young leaps and plops into the goo and happily slides and spins frictionless offscreen.

[reverse view, head and shoulders] Chef closes his eyes and sniffs it. He thinks to himself. Sonic guy grabs a wooden chair remnant, breaks off a piece of wood, aims a sonicbeam at it and lights it as a torch. [shift focus] Behind him, Chef pulls out a bagel from nowhere, spreads the goo over it, takes an inquisitive bite, and and is delighted to enjoy it. [shift focus] Behind Chef, Young learns to ice skate, and is delighted that he is getting good at it. [shift focus] In the foreground, Sonic's off hand is coated in the green goo. He takes grip of the flaming end of the torch and turns it over. He is delighted to be unharmed. <Alarm bell rings> All look upstage.

 

Scene 8

[medium view, angled side view] Two of Sonic's drones are shining laser lights on a stone wall. One of them is blinking a yellow light. Sonic in his partial kilt and one green hand sits down cross-legged at the wall and studies his display. Chef arrives and stands over him. Chef's butter knife transforms into a dental tool as he pokes at the mortar between two bricks. <grinding> He traces the rectangle around one brick. Downstage, Young slowly twirls and slides until he comes to a stop casually leaning against the wall and watching them. Sonic turns his pad into a headband on his head, pulls off his boots, stands and places his hands in his boots, causing them to morph into a pair of white gloves with claws. As Chef finishes his task and steps back, Sonic steps in and slides out the brick (the size of a cinder block) and sets it down. All three peek in. Simultaneously, they all lean in closer to the opening. Simultaneously they all step back. Chef morphs his displays into a buzz saw. Sonic pulls off his headband and adds it to his glove material to make his own buzz saw. Young pushes off from the wall and glides away.

[closeup] Young's hands pull the square cap off of another pot of goo and drop it to the ground. <slam!> They hoist the pot up.

[closeup] Young's hands hold the pot upside down over his own head. [focus shift] Chef and Sonic turn to look at him with their stone cutting power tools ready like machine guns. They look at Young wide eyed. (The entire screen is covered with green goo dripping from above.) <Squirp!>

[side view at angle head to toe] Fast-moving green-coated Young zips between astonished Chef and Sonic and dives in mid air into the opening. Sonic and Chef barely turn their heads fast enough to track him to the opening. Young's pair of gaudy high-tech boots stick in the opening. They fall to the ground on this side of the wall, revealing that Young's yellow fundoshi also slipped off. It also falls on this side of the opening.

[heads to chests] Sonic and Chef baring their stone-cutting tools stare blankly.

[return to side view] Young's arm reaches out and down, but cannot reach the fundoshi nor the boots on the floor.

[Return to others] Sonic and Chef smile and laugh hartily, then get serious and charge zealously with their weapons. <buzz!!>

[opposite side of wall, head to waist] Young quickly withdraws his arm from the hole and steps back into the darker room, limping. <grinding> He covers himself with both hands and looks around the room, embarrassed although he appears to be alone. He looks down.

[closeup] He twiddles his big toe with the silver ring still on it.

[face] Young realizes he still has one tool left. He touches with both hands his yellow green-goo-coated headband and it morphs a flashlight. He clicks on the headlamp. <click>

[wide view] The light reveals hieroglyphics on the walls of this large room. He sees murals of a humanoid king holding up a wonderful little plant, similar to the one Young recovered. In the next frame, female minions cut a leaf off of the plant, and it drips the green goo. (Many celebrated uses of the lubricating insulator are ensconced.) A smiling man and woman eat the goo on tortillas. A pregnant woman and her husband kiss, each holding up a handful of goo. Two green nude men are happily building a snowman.

[closeup] Young is smiling at what he has learned about his plant. <crash, crumble!>

[quick zoom behind Young] Chef and Sonic step through the rubble of hte large opening they have made. They now both wear headlamps and step into the room triumphantly, fascinated by the murals up above them. [tilt up] Young quickly limps between them and into the brighter room. <Bang!> A loud bang surprises them.

[reverse view] Chef and Sonic turn. They look down.

[closeup] One brick lies on top of the others and is well lit. Dust in the air around the brick is clearing away. [tilt up] Young has both boots on and has just pulled up his fundoshi. [zoom in to face] <slow grinding> Young slowly looks up.

[Return to faces] Chef and Sonic slowly look up.

[closeup] Another brick starts sliding down from the opening with a grating sound. It suddenly gives way <slow grinding stops> and drops. <bang>

[return] Young quickly looks back down.

[closeup] Now two fallen bricks lie there. <more slow grinding starts>

[faces] Now frightened Chef and Sonic [zoom out and pull back] run forward to Young and the opening. They leap into the other room and tumble before another brick falls. Then another three. They stand and run. (Young's hand or boot can occasionally be seen far ahead of them as they run.) [continue to pull back out] As Sonic passes his hoverbots, still working, he waves while running, and they follow him. <Loud avalanche rumble> The entire back wall crumbles. They run out of the entire building. Bricks are falling from the ceiling (in a chain reaction from the loss of the structural wall.)

 

Scene 9

[Front view with ruins opening in back] Men are standing outside with fingers in their ears. <Avalanche noise stops.> They slowly turn around. The outside wall is still standing. There is an opening at the top of the now fallen rubble blocking the door big enough for a housecat to pass through comfortably.

 

[Front view of men facing the opening, head to thigh] They pause, not pleased. Sonic tells the two others something and waves at the opening in front of them. The two agree. [pan down to ground] Young and Chef kneel down. Young taps buttons on one boot. Chef turns his crown into a little Andy the Android. It runs behind the camera. Part of the material of Young's left boot produces a dump truck similar to the potted plants with wheels he made earlier. It follows little Andy. Chef stands. Another and a third dump truck appear and follow. Chef brings his red cape in front of him. He raises it up off screen. A red shopping cart hits the ground in front of Chef. All the material of Young's left boot has been completely used up. Young looks up at the opening off screen.

[opening] Little Andy brings rolled manuscripts out. The dump-trucks start to return carrying one clay pot of green goo each.

[wide view] Andy tosses the manuscripts into Chef's shopping cart, then returns for another load. Young is barefoot, and three more mini-dump-trucks at his feet head to the opening. Sonic looks from the pots to the shuttle and ponders something. [zoom in closer] Young complains to the other two. They look at each other. Sonic takes his gloves, earbuds, headband/lamp, and even his kilt and rolls them all up into a ball of white material and hands it to Young. Young begins tapping on the material like a computer pad. Chef waves at the ship to come over to him.

[interior, shuttle galley] Both remaining chef-bots drop the food they contained and hurry out.

[wide, Just outside the ship] Chef watches as the Chef-bots pass him toward Young in the background as the dump trucks bring a chain of pots. Sonic has crouched down and with one hand is picking up one of the pots from a truck, which immediately turns around to get another pot. [slowly zoom in] Sonic snaps a piece off of the ship. It transforms into a wide paintbrush. He dips the brush into the pot, brings out a brush of green goo, and shows it to Chef. Chef is curious and questioning.

 

Scene 10

[interior room] As trucks carry pots down the hallway outside the room, Young (with his high-tech boots restored) rolls into what could be a medical examination room with a table, upon which stand the 12 pots Young built earlier. Young discovers that the cute little flower has wilted in the shuttle. He is sad and shocked. [zoom in] He desperately grabs a nearby watering can (from off camera) and waters the plant. He adjusts an overhead sun lamp. He watches and waits. The wilted flower falls apart into a dozen dark seeds, bouncing and rolling on the table top. He is heartbroken. Then with excitement he realizes they are seeds. [slowly turn to see window] He quickly plants each of the seeds in the pots of dirt and waters each one with the watering can. He adjusts the overhead light. Sonic can be seen outside a window mopping goo over the ship. Sonic knocks on the window. Young looks up to him, nods, and taps several Taps on a control pad in the table. Various restraints and seatbelts arise from the table to hold the pots. Finally a clear dome covers all the pots as Young rolls out the doorway to the hall where the trucks have finished their work.

 

Scene 11

[cockpit] The three are wearing even more safety straps than last time, getting ready to take off. (All their costumes have been restored.)

[exterior] The Stinger is painted green all over. <engines hum> The ground and ruins suddenly fall away. The shuttle spins around. <engines gear up> The engines glow brightly, and the Stinger shoots away up into the sky.

[cockpit] Young and Sonic are smiling at their speed. They look at each other then forward again. Both push a throttle all the way forward.

[exterior] The ground falls away behind them, and they begin to orbit the planet. The Stinger passes off-screen.

[cockpit] Their faces blur with the acceleration. They are thrilled.

[exterior] The upper atmosphere burns the goo glowing red, but it holds. The planet falls away and they are out in space again. The red glow fades returning the green tint. They drift silently. [rotate camera angle to see ahead of ship] The mother ship is visible straight ahead, growing larger. Tiny rocks floating in space bounce harmlessly off of the goo. The Stinger spins around. <engines fire> The mother ship's rather frightening speed coming toward the Stinger slows down gradually until they pull alongside at the observation window. They slowly nose right toward it. The QM walks up to the window inside and watches. The nose of the Stinger hits the window and passes through. The entire shuttle enters the observation deck and lands.

 

[wide view boarding plank] Chef rolls down the boarding plank into the arms of QM. Sonic walks down the plank casually. He is passed by Young and his trail of 12 small potted plants which have sprouted. A string of small trucks with pots also drive down the plank, but slower. [pull back] Young pulls up near Chef and QM, and his plants circle around him. Sonic walks up between them and is happy to see someone approaching them.

[head to waist] The Commandress (with the open door in the distance behind her) walks up with long strides, excited about something. She holds up her left hand and unpinches her index finger and thumb in a gesture that causes an holographic display screen to appear and enlarge for them to see, showing the ship and the planet roughly equal size. She taps the image with her index finger, and a white dot loops around the planet several times at blazing speed, then whips toward the ship, slowing as it approaches the ship until it touches it. She waves the image away and gestures with both hands the, "I don't understand" shrug.

[reverse view] They are all proud and happy. Sonic gestures to the now green-tinted Stinger above his head. Young gestures to the plants at his feet. The line of little trucks with the pots of goo are rolling up to him.

[return] The commandress is very impressed. She applauds. She suddenly stops and looks at something in front of her.

[reverse view, rapidly zooming in] She zeros in on the question mark tattoo on Young's chest.

[return] She gestures with her right hand like she is typing on an invisible keyboard at desk height.

[closeup, tracking] From a square floor panel, a robotic arm emerges and approaches Young's chest, but stops. Young sees it and is delighted. He rolls a step forward and puffs up his chest. (Behind him, out of focus, the others watch and are happy about it too.) The tip of the arm touches Young's question mark tattoo and scans back and forth erasing it. Then it scans back and forth in the empty circle and replaces a tattoo of an oak tree with wide roots. As the robotic arm withdraws, Young looks at his new insignia with pride and shows it to the others.

[wide side view, pulling back] While the Commandress applauds, everyone rejoices and celebrates. [pull back out of observation window]

[pull back into space] The ship, now repaired, is slowly approaching the now familiar planet. <majestic space music>

[fade out]

Themes

Facts the audience will probably never be shown:  
  1. The Chef has on his chest a tattoo of a crossed fork and butter knife in a circle.
  2. This ship is a deaf-centric society where communication is mostly by gesture and facial expression, and silent computer readouts are the norm, although many people can hear and speak.
  3. The sonic technician has particularly good hearing (and bad eyesight) and adjusts his computer interfaces accordingly.
  4. At the center of the ship is a massive silver ring which detects the gestures of everyone on board. Each person is allowed a quota of the ship's stored energy and nanotechnology material (nanobots) for daily use. Each women on board has access to as much power and material as she needs. They limit themselves to reasonable use of the ship's resources. Men have a small quota. The Captain directs the Quartermistress to give a silver ring with a larger allotment of resources to each man when the captain assigns important tasks to that man. The smaller rings allow the away team an amount of the ship's nanobots and power.
  Ideas for later episodes:
  • Sonic meets a faun who looks physically identical to him from the waist up. They wonder about each other, but do not have an explanation.
  •  
  • Sonic is hit by a plant or animal toxin that causes hallucinations. Almost a whole episode is hallucination. He sees his body unconscious on the ground as he floats above it. He thinks he is having an out of body experience. Then he sees other copies of his unconscious body lying about all over the place. Thn he realizes it is just a bizarre nightmare.
  •  
  • There may be a crossover to the Witches' faun story, (and/or Sapphire Circe). An away team boarding party finds a massive silver ring at the heart of the planet which powers all supernatural phenomenon on the planet. The local natives have lost the instructions on how to properly operate it. The team has the moral question of whether to teach the natives how to use the powerful technology which is waiting on them, or would they destroy themselves if given such power?
The video produciton of this story is envisioned as a language-agnostic CGI animated movie with sound effects and background music. Speech is represented by mumbling sounds and grunts as the characters move their lips and gesture. No actual words in any language are heard.

  4. XTube Wyldspace_Art video NFNM Girl-power squad with male background advisors and love interests. In this story no one wants to be naked in public, but everyone likes to see everyone else's body, and most dramatic situations result in temporary clothing damage.
  All 4 versions exist in the same universe of Athena Minerva. Some motherships have different social conventions. Maybe a great threat can cause them all to team up, and any two teams can meet up too by crazy random happenstance.   Reverse gender characters: Young becomes an Asian millennial girl who likes the schoolgirl uniform motif. Chef becomes a German Brunhilda. Sonic becomes a black middle-age woman. Commandress becomes Commander, an old skinny Brit with a flambouyant white moustache. Renaissance Faire Quartermistress woman becomes a 20-something Faun with a flute instead of a magic wand. Rosie the Riveter becomes an auto mechanic grease monkey. His large wrench is a ratchet wrench. Tall skinny medical man becomes Asian medical doctor in bikini and white lab coat and thigh high boots. Instead of ship breaking up in warp jump, it is pulled backward a long distance and damaged all over. The women get to do a shorter space warp to get to the planet, (A ring of nanobots forms and creates the space warp,) then they have a slow descent through the atmosphere because their heat shielding technology is not so great. Then they rocket back without warp because green goo is so good.
