Komatzi Rusastruth (a.k.a. "Mati")
Mati is a man who makes the daily choice to remain kind and gentle despite the darkness he knows to be present in the world. He is naturally friendly, with the ability to remain calm in the face of pressure. Even though he tends to be overconfident, thanks to his empathetic, outgoing nature, he's generally well-liked by those he meets.
Komatzi's Physical and Emotional Facets are stronger than his Mental Facet.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Mati is fit and moderately muscled, while still remaining remarkably agile. He is capable of feats of strength and dexterity, but he primarily relies on his nimbleness to accomplish his goals.
Body Features
His shoulders are broader than his hips, lending his body an inverted triangular shape. He is unusually tall for someone of his race.
Facial Features
His face is handsome and angular, without any notable marks or scars. Though his features are bold, they're not overly exaggerated. He would widely be considered handsome by most Suktu standards.
Identifying Characteristics
One untamable strand of his hair usually falls over his face, which he rarely notices anymore. He can usually be seen smiling, exposing a slight gap between his two front teeth.
Special abilities
His Boon is the ability to ease another person's anxiety as long as the two maintain skin-to-skin contact. Use of his Boon causes a steadily increasing feeling of nausea.
Apparel & Accessories
For the most part, he enjoys clothing in the style worn by farmers and other common folk on the continent of Tasawa. He usually wears various earth tones.
Specialized Equipment
Mati carries a sword with him wherever he goes, both for his own protection and that of the people around him.

Standard Cradle Valley children's education. He is primarily self-educated in swordsmanship, though he is now able to afford lessons since he began his adventuring career.

He isn't permanently employed by any one person or organization, preferring instead to find work slaying monsters or tracking down wanted criminals as he travels from place to place.

Mati's proudest achievement was raising enough money through adventuring to allow his parents to retire early.

Mati never truly excelled in school, something which he felt ashamed of despite his parents' assurances that trying his best made his efforts good enough.
Mental Trauma
Memories of cradling his youngest brother and soothing him as he died still haunt Mati late at night, despite his determination not to ruminate on the past.

Being extremely good-aligned, Mati is deeply invested in the wellbeing of not only his friends, but most strangers he meets during his travels as well. He wishes that everyone would do good for good's sake, trying to live by the same standards himself, though he knows this hope isn't entirely realistic.

Motivation
His primary goal is to care for and protect those closest to him, especially his parents, his sister, and his friend Chaya. When he's able, his secondary goal is to provide a similar sense of protection for other families. He also strives to meet and befriend a circle of people whom he can rely on and who can rely on him.

Loves his family and friendly conversation with others. Likes animals and exercise. Dislikes when people are overly mopey. Hates to see others suffer.

His confidence is usually a blessing, but sometimes it becomes too strong for his own good and he believes he can do things he's not yet ready for.
Personality Quirks
He grew up with a lisp as a child, and despite practicing enough to have overcome it in his adolescence, it sometimes makes a reappearance in his speech when he becomes excited and rushes to get his words out. He's always moving some part of his body, whether that be tapping his fingers, bouncing a leg, or swaying back and forth slightly (a habit which some find annoying.)

Bathes when dirty, isn't otherwise overly concerned with cleanliness.

He has two fathers and a younger sister, all of whom he talks about regularly and wishes he could see more often. In his earlier years, he also had a younger brother who passed away due to illness.

Mati is a "people person." Getting to know strangers and spending time with friends are two of his favorite activities. The genuine warmth in his smile and his instinctive sense of humor cause people to feel as though they've known him for years instead of minutes, while his ability to listen empathetically as well as talk draws people in.

His confidence in himself and his abilities is clear in the way he walks, gestures, and even sits. His back and shoulders usually remain straight and he doesn't hold his limbs close to his body to take up less space.
Hobbies & Pets
He doesn't have any pets, but he loves dogs and wants to befriend every one he sees. His favorite hobby is singing, something which he does remarkably well. Classic Suktu folk ballads are his favorite songs to sing.
Speech
Komatzi has a musical, medium-low-toned voice. He speaks in a wide register of pitches, depending on what he's trying to say. The slightest hint of a lisp can be heard in his voice when he gets too excited. He laughs often.
