Suktu (SOOK-too)
The Suktu are small in stature, but not in bravery or mental acuity. They're the most common intelligent race in the Middle Realm.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Suktu are bipedal, possessing two arms and two legs. Most have leaner frames, but some have stockier builds.
Genetics and Reproduction
Suktu gestation takes around 260 days and almost always results in non-identical twins. 75% of all Suktu are born male, so an intriguing custom has developed allowing gay and straight couples alike to raise a child.
Growth Rate & Stages
The Suktu are virtually helpless in the first stages of their life. By around age 15, they will begin to undergo their hormonal transformations to fully-grown adults, a process which slows as time goes on and ends at around the age of approximately 20 years old.
Ecology and Habitats
This species is able to make a home wherever they can build and find reliably source food. While they are physically incapable of withstanding the most extreme environments, they make up for it with their incredible ingenuity and inventive ability. They often settle in the Tall Cities.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They are omnivorous, living mostly on farmed grains and vegetables, as well as the products of domesticated animals.

Their drive to improve and innovate means that they are usually drawn to the Tall Cities. They are deeply community-oriented.

Most follow an innate tendency to settle in one area with hundreds or thousands of their species. Such villages or cities form intricate social networks with vibrant customs of etiquette, dress, and routine.

They primarily rely on their sight to navigate their environments. They have excellent distance vision and aren't hindered by dim lighting. Their hearing is good, but their sense of smell is rather limited.
