Aristo la Polla

Aristo la Polla is the current Savore of the Serene Republic of Meicor and the head of House la Polla. He also holds the title of Chief Judiciar of the Meicor High Tribune.
Coming to power in 1836 after the death of his father Claudian, Aristo began working to increase the standing of the relatively small House la Polla. Through his clever manipulations and ruthless business sense by 1850 House la Polla was one of the richest and most powerful families in Meicor, rivaled only by Houses Zullo and Losca.
In 1855 Aristo, now Chief Judiciar, learned of the discovery of an arcaltium vein in the Zullo mines. In an attempt to stay on equal footing with his rivals, Aristo hired a group of condemned criminals to infiltrate the mine and bring him as much arcaltium as they could, offering them a substantial reward for it in addition to their freedom. Unbeknownst to him, one of the mercenaries sent a letter to the Crownmage of Hildonia, informing him of the situation.
Several days later, a group of mages from the Eloqui Order arrived in the city to investigate. Gaining the trust of the Savore, they convinced him to have Aristo arrested. While in prison, Aristo discovered that his rival Calpurnia Zullo had also been arrested. Together, the two former enemies made a pact to join forces and in short order escaped from the jail. As the two stoked fires of resentment towards the Eloqui and the Empire, the town soon erupted into civil war. After the Savore was killed in an assault on the Republican Palace, Aristo was elected Savore. In the aftermath of the battle, the mercenary Katalian Company was destroyed and Hildonian Crownmage Siegmar Umarov was imprisoned in Onocrot Keep. Umarov would soon be freed by the same group of criminals Aristo had hired just days before, only to escape from them when Anton von Rheintach began to speak about taking him into slavery.
The Kingdom of Hildonia took notice of the coup after Umarov's return and sent an armada to restore peace to the city. After a brief naval blockade, Aristo signed a treaty with the Hildonian emissary agreeing to a permanent Eloqui detachment in Meicor and reparations in exchange for Hildonia recognizing him as the legitimate Savore of Meicor.
