Tasanoth Wastes

This region was once made up of rolling hills, lush forests and grasslands. Now, an inhospitable desert wasteland, frequented with sand and glass storms and the occasional magical anomaly. The Wastes are filled with jagged rock formations, glass-like spires, glass and crystalline sands and ruins of fallen civilizations. Over two millennia ago, this was the home of the powerful Mage Kingdom, Tasanoth. At the end of the "Mage War", in a single cataclysmic, magical blast, the Kingdom of Tasanoth was destroyed, leveling mountains and hills, and earth turned to glass. What was left in the wake was a large plateau surrounded by a crater, sand, rock and glass. The force and intensity pushed rock and glass spires from the earth, and created the Desert Wall mountain range. Mysterious energy remains, warping reality and creating unexplained events Today the wastes are home to strange and horrifying creatures and beasts. Only a few civilizations exist as towns along the coastlines and nomadic tribes.
