Atælon

It has been 150 years since the skies cleared, and the world became quiet. The Celestial Cataclysm was over and the world could begin to mend. Those that survived would find themselves in a completely different world. On the supercontinent of Nûrdæn, the survivors of the last age are beginning to rebuild. The time before the Celestial Cataclysm is like a distant memory. With the scale of destruction, the land has suffered a collective amnesia. Only the most long lived people that survived have memories of the time before. Most written history is either buried, submerged or lost entirely, very few places have retained written knowledge of the world before, which is now a very valuable commodity for those that possess it or find it.   The land has mysterious magical energies, called Aether that flow through it. Many inhabitants are capable manipulating Aethereal energy, through the discovery of ancient traditions, communing with natural and elemental forces, exerting their force of thought and will, or through holy or unholy blessing or corruption.   There are many inhabitants of the land, whether beast, humanoid, dragon or monster. There are clashes between these inhabitants that would subjugate, destroy, and wield magic and the ones that would defend the weak, those that fear magic and those that would protect against future destruction and death.
The world is full of opportunity for a would be adventurer or king looking to make their mark on the world, whether uncovering the secrets of ancient civilizations and long lost arts, or fighting back terrible forces and untamed wilds.
  Atælon has a diverse population of races and is, at this point in time believed to be a crossroads of the multiverse.
