Jun Kim

Ranger Jun Kim

Jun's always been kind of mellow, personality-wise. Despite this, they won't stand by idly if someone else is being wronged or close-minded. It's important to them that everyone gets the treatment they deserve. Besides, Jun just wants to relax more than anything, and injustice is harsh on good vibes. They're the oldest person on the Celestion-5. With that seniority, as well as their lifetime achievements, comes being the go-to person for personal advice. They're happy to oblige but quick to tell the others they don't know what they don't know. Jun is a little worried about 3/4ths of the crew being under 25 (5 of them aren't even 20? One kid might not even be 18??), but sees they're responsible enough to hold their own for the most part. After all, they're some of the few people Jun feels truly comfortable around. The least they can do is take them seriously (since no one outside the ship does....)

Physical Description

Body Features

Age: 27 Years Old (June, Year 108)   Birthday: February 14th   Fairly tall and slim, with broad shoulders that were helpful in making them appear more masculine. Their face is oval shaped. Has some muscle definition, but tries not to work out their upper body too intensively due to a shoulder injury they got a few years back.

Identifying Characteristics

They're easily identified by their distinctive hairstyle, specifically the bangs that cover their right eye. Jun tries to curl it often enough so that they don't look "emo"

Mental characteristics

Education

4-year Criminal Justice Degree, Police Training, and Interstellar Forces Training

Accomplishments & Achievements

Jun Kim had a friend who recommended that they join the IF. The Interstellar Forces was men-only at the time, but Jun Kim joined anyway, disguising themself to fit in. Eventually, they were found out. This led to some heavy debate, which resulted in the IF deciding to let any adult 18 or older join. Jun’s really modest about the whole thing to the point of almost seeming secretive, and most people wouldn’t know it was them who did it unless they introduce themself by name. Some people who knew them from that time will still refer to them in masculine terms. It’s not something they mind.

Failures & Embarrassments

Jun originally wanted to become a cop, but didn't make it past police academy. They never elaborate on why.

Other Relationships

Leon - "Nice little dude." Jun finds Leon to be a harmless guy. Really friendly. His awkwardness kind of reminds them of themself when they first joined. They find it kind of cool that he so openly looks up to them.   Mia - "She's cool." To be honest, Jun wondered why Roxie chose to befriend her at first, since Mia seemed more like she wanted to be left alone. She warmed up to the two of them anyway. Jun can see that she takes her job seriously and tries not to step on people's toes. She seems like she wants to relax, which Jun can relate to.   Roxie - "Rox is like a little sis to me! She really brightens up my day." Roxie is like a little sister to Jun. Her warmth and kindness is important to Jun in a way they could never properly explain to her. Roxie only expects them to be themself. Jun appreciates that since it's been especially hard for people to see them as a person since they became semi-famous. They don't feel like Roxie will turn on them for not being her vision of a perfect role model.   Aiden - "Kellyyyyyyy" -finger guns at him- Jun is probably the only person on the ship who can deal with Aiden's personality. They know him better than any of the others, and that he's really not that threatening. Jun is usually the person that keeps Aiden from being so abrasive with others or looking like he doesn't care about his job. This leads to Aiden referring to Jun as his "personal parole officer". It's actually kind of true; when Jun first joined the IF, they were literally assigned to keep him on track, but that's in the past. Despite their differences, they really trust one another and get along.   Angelo - "He's nice but....something's up." Jun can't see how any harm could come from an anxious kid like Angelo, but that doesn't mean they're not suspicious about him. There's no way he's an adult. Jun keeps a close eye on him and Leon, waiting for either of them to slip up. Still, Jun offers him guidance like the others; he seems to be a nice kid, just kinda lost...   Emil - "He's a really cool guy! I like him." Jun thinks Emil does really well at keeping everyone energized, and he's just pleasant to be around in general. They know he has his own problems from time to time, but he has confidence in his job, and Jun respects him for that. It's probably hard for him to take a role of leadership at such a young age, but he's doing pretty well. Jun also appreciates how accommodating to others' needs, even if they don't necessarily ask; it's really thoughtful of him.   Lorenzo - "He's gonna do okay." Unlike Aiden, Jun doesn't suspect Lorenzo to be hiding government secrets by staying in his room all the time. He's probably just stressed out; Emil did mention a couple times that he's a loner by nature. Jun wonders if he might not know how to interact with people very well aside from giving orders. Either way, they don't find much fault in his leadership abilities other than delegating a little too much work to his brother.

Social Aptitude

Jun's not necessarily talkative, but they always seem to draw people to them. Even in situations where they didn't have seniority over everyone, people still asked them for relationship advice, which they didn't have much experience in, but did the best with the common sense they had. Jun never felt close to their high school/college friends, but the friends in question never realized that. People tend to think they know more about Jun than they actually do.

Hobbies & Pets

Pets: Has a dog named Cupid that they left with their parents, and a fish named Rascal in their apartment.

Speech

Has an extremely casual way of speaking, and sometimes slips into surfer slang (proud representative of Surf City!) Nonetheless, has a deep and commanding voice, especially when using more professional speech. Often uses 'like' and "uhhhh" as sentence buffers.
