Mariel Issek

Mariel Issek is the half elf , half celestine founder, owner and CEO of Issek Industries. She is of middle height with fine-boned cheeks and pointed ears. Amongst the enchanted jewelry she wears is a tongue-piercing that grants her the ability to understand and speak any language she can identify.
She has tier 8 implants and has been through an immortality ritual.
Mariel is known to take cruises in her private yacht Silver Line that last a month or more.

Mariel has a "collection" of exotic people on her private Haven starbase. She was the one who purchased the slaves that Evelyn rescued from the Daggerhound. Later, she abducted Vania and is responsible for the attempts to capture Evelyn.
Evelyn handed Mariel over to the dragons due to her kidnapping of Sriallac Goldenscale. Her punishment includes handing over Issek Industries and a fine that will take her around 80 years to pay off.

History

Mariel is the daughter of a celestine noblewoman from Celestial Gate and an elven merchant. She lost her parents when Celestial Gate’s agents caught up with them. She wasn’t there, but her father was executed, and her mother sent to a monastery for her crime of breeding with other species - then executed when she tried to escape.

Just over a century ago, she hired pirates to raid Celestial Gate, and they abducted both the high priestess and prophetess of their church. As they were a theocracy, that was a devastating blow to their prestige. She didn’t stop there, though. She waged a quiet trade war while funding raiders, until their government essentially collapsed, then took over the system.
In every way that matters, she owned Celestial Gate outright.
