The Revenant Quadrant
As far as history was recorded by the current space-faring species, the Moreta Quadrant is and has always been considered as a “Dead Zone”, devoid of intelligent life and fertile planets.
Moreover, around half of the recorded astral formations (planets; stars; ...) are shattered or completely destroyed, some littered with timeworn wreckage of ships, installations and machines.
Said wreckage appears to have taken a good deal of damage which implies that every single one of these hulks were under attack by something or someone. However, no biological bodies were ever found, only old broken computers and robots broken beyond repair.
Around 341 A.F (94 years prior to our time) , many excursions to this sector were carried out by the Mega-Corporations as well as Governmental factions like the Protectorate (back when it was still active), it was eventually confirmed that every single piece of wreckage found within the sector corresponded with Precursor Technology found rarely within the Unima Quadrant. At the time, this discovery both terrified and intrigued researchers all around the Milky Way. Indeed, Precursor Technology may be a good subject of research, but it can also bring up an arms race between the factions of the galaxy, eventually leading to wars.
For better or worse, most of the wreckage was harvested by Hegima Ind, essentially giving them a power boost, allowing them to stand toe to toe against most factions at the time. This abrupt seizing of technology was then followed by numerous theft of machinery and robots that were salvaged by other factions.
28 years go by, it is now 369 A.F (Nice), and reports of strange spires and temple-like structures are discovered all around the sector, researchers wondered how these were not discovered beforehand, that question was answered quickly following the disappearance of the said structures as well as the appearance of the same kind of building on other planets across the sector. It has been theorized that these temples and spires can shift place under certain conditions that are still a mystery to this day. Any information concerning these structures is kept under lock and key by most factions aware of their existence.
Continuing on, 29 years passed, along with their own share of burdens and discoveries. This is during that time, in 398 A.F, that the Rift opened within the Moreta Quadrant, thus allowing the newly discovered aspect of our universe, mana, to spread throughout the galaxy and beyond. The apparition of the Rift and the already mysterious history of the Moreta Quadrant sent the Milky Way into turmoil, by the time the Rift opened, numerous organizations had installed themselves within the sector, therefore, many went to inspect this strange phenomenon.
Ultimately, one of these organizations triumphed over the others, it was a newly-formed corporation built by Humans. Said corporation was called Varkain Labs. and grew exponentially to promptly rival the already existing Mega-Corporations. What followed during these 37 years of discovery were wars; breakthroughs; political change and new opportunities for the people of the Milky Way.
