Khanosti's Heart

Culture

Members of Khanosti's Heart still hold the ideals of the shamans of old. Violence is a last resort and only when there is no other option. Even with the violence is condisered justified, great shame is felt for the transgression. Care is placed into tending to the balance of Zantyra even in the face of changing times and the legalization of mining and blacksmithing.    In recent years, some members have began using Facet magic to recreate some of the shamanic traditions, but their power still pales in comparison to that of the Velpir.

History

Khanosti's Heart was founded in the years following The Celestial Calamity and the extinction of the Velpir. Most of Zantyra holds no hope that the Velpir will ever return, but the archshaman's devoted followers believe that believe that he is locked in Khanosti's Prison buried deep beneath Wraithshear.   While the has been no official dissolution, many have given up hope, turning instead to the new gods for guidance.

Mythology & Lore

For eight thousand years, Archshaman Khanosti served the people of Zantyra. He was wise and patient, tending to even the simplest matters that came to his attention. He maintained peace and sat as judge in more cases than history has recorded. To the people of Zantyra, he was the closest thing to a deity.    During The Celestial Calamity, Khanosti perished along with thousands of others gathered at the base of Velpraxa. His body was recovered and the majority belive the Archshaman died that day.    Due to the fact that the Elements have yet to declare a new Archshaman, members of Khanosti's Heart believe their beloved Archshaman is still alive and held prisoner by the Eshiddian beneath Wraithshear where they hoard power for themselves, hidden behind the perils of Wraithshear's wild magic.   Those that do still wait for Khanosti to return often turn their prayers to Wraithshear, hoping that even within his prison, he can offer guidance and bring peace.
