Elves and Drow

elves
Unlike the other common races, elves are relatively new to Xorik. Elven legend says that thousands of years ago, the original elves were tricked into leaving their home world to travel to Xorik by the sinister goddess Lolth. Soon after arriving to Xorik, a bitter civil war erupted between the elves seduced by Lolth’s promise of power and those that stood adamant against the dark goddess. Eventually the noble elves achieved victory, cursed their corrupted elves with the name drow, and banished the drow deep underground.   In modern times, surface elves live throughout the woods of Xorik, but the vast majority live in Airathul Forest in their beautiful city of Valeryos. Longer lived than most races, the elves view time much differently than humans. Elves would rather take a long time to do something perfect, than rush and botch it. Many elves stereotype humans as an impatient and violent race with the Great War proving their point. In terms of faith, elves have adopted the gods of their new home. Many elves primarily worship Azarith, due to the Emerald Dragon’s affinity for nature, but they also commonly worship Pelor, Bahamut, and Lunara. There are even small sects of Raz worshippers that channel their god’s vengeance to strike back against the drow.   Regions: Airathul Forest

Drow

Unlike their surface cousins, the drow live underground in wondrous cities. Although as long lived as their surface cousins, drow are more ambitious and prefer power over peace. They frequently engage in long term plotting that could take decades or even centuries to achieve. The drow that worship Lolth live in matriarchal societies, but there are small groups of drow that worship the mad god Zaraku or other dark entities. In the Underdark, the ancient imprisoned evils whisper to those who will listen and attract a number of followers...   Regions: Underdark
