Gods and Godesses
There are no shortage of gods and goddesses in the world, but by far the most prevalent and well-known (in Halinor) are the Divinities of the Highest Heavens. This collective of powerful gods and goddesses fashion themselves in the form of a royal court, complete with King, Queen, and High Patrons of their various disciplines. The Divinities in legend conquered the world from the Predecessors, titans of cruel and immense power that devoured as they pleased. They built the world upon the corpse of the titan Aspiria, establishing safety and the opportunity for prosperity amongst the races of mortalkind. They rule from afar, though stories of the Divine masquerading as mortals themselves abound across the continent.
The Divinities of the Highest Heavens
1. Tytos (God), the Divine King: Offering the Order Domain, Tytos champions Law, Justice, and the Skies above.
2. Eirune (Goddess), the Queen of Light: Offering the Light Domain, Eirune influences diplomacy, borders, eloquence, and games--and in fact serves as the Hostess of the Aspirants' Tournament, a continent-wide tournament that occurs twice a decade.
3. Tyrachon (God), the Tempest Lord: Offering the Tempest Domain, Tyrachon governs the Sea, the Storms, and the Beasts of the world. The fierce deity is a tempestuous friend and even more dangerous as a foe.
4. Siren (God), the Keeper of the Dead: Offering the Grave Domain, Siren lives beyond the Sea of Pneuma that all souls must cross. His is a great mystery, but one eventually resolved for all mortalkind.
5. Demeria (Goddess), the Harvest Lady: Offering the Nature Domain, Demeria is a wandering Goddess from the western part of Halinor, sharing bounties of the land and blessings upon families across the continent.
6. Aesikon (God), the Prince of Song: Offering the Life Domain, Aesikon influences Music, Truth, and Healing, a broad portfolio that has likewise earned broad appeal from the people of Halinor.
7. Alophia (Goddess), the Gray Lady: Offering the Knowledge Domain, Alophia is the source of Wisdom, Philosophy, and Knowledge of Halinor--and in Carinthia She is the sole deity worshipped by a strict church, celebrating Her for War Strategy and Tactics.
8. Meninos (God), the Butcher Lord: Offering the War Domain, Meninos is the champion of War, Violence, and Bloodshed. He is a relentless, oft-misunderstood deity that demands blood as a sacrifice.
9. Haelaxa (Goddess), the Divine Jester: Offering the Trickery Domain, Haelaxa influences Travel, Commerce, and Thieves across Halinor. This mercurial Divinity is popular across the realm, but depending on the context worshippers might find themselves scrutinized...
10. Caphos (God), the Craftsman: Offering the Forge Domain, Caphos is the dwarven God of craftsmanship, invention, and fire. The kindly crafter treasures not just the physical process and results of practiced artifice but also kindness and curiosity.
11. Pegape (Goddess), the Carnal Celebrant: Offering the Peace Domain, Pegape is a Divinity of mutable nature and appearance but one who always champions Pleasure, Passion, Beauty and Desire.
12. Petra (Goddess), the Moon Maiden: Offering the Twilight Domain, Petra is the patroness of the Moon, Love, and Women and Children. The youngest goddess Herself, She is beloved of the Highest Heavens and mortalkind alike.
Other Gods Strange and Mysterious
There is no shortage of beings found across Halinor, and many of these beastial folk can be said to form crude worship of strange gods. While these powers no doubt hold some sway amongst the populations of trolls, goblins, and other non-sapient species, they are nothing more than academic curiosities to more civilized peoples.
