The battle of heaven

The culmination of the conflict between the legion and the obsidian knights, it was an all out attack on both sides that took place around and in what is now called the city of ash.

The Legion at this point had an overwhelming military force and was quickly chipping down at the ranks of the obsidian knights.

The obsidian knights summoned their god to aid them in battle, and it crushed many of The Legion's force. It created a powerful lightning storm that struck down many of their heavy armor as well as thousands of Ashenkin soldiers.

Atlas retaliated by detonating an experimental plasma warhead at point blank range of the Great One.

The explosion eviscerated the god, and it's attempts at regenerating were thwarted by the red plasma melting away at it's flesh. In the end it died and the obsidian knights were all incredibly discouraged and weakened by the loss of their god and most were killed in a fighting retreat.

The remnants of the red plasma from the battle killed the nature in the region, causing it to become how it is in current times.
