A good morning with Evelyn

The first light of dawn filtered through the tall, arched windows of Evelyn Mordos' grand chamber, casting a soft, golden glow across the opulent room. Evelyn stirred beneath her silk sheets, reluctant to leave the warmth of her bed. The faint chirping of birds and the distant murmur of the castle waking up reached her ears, signaling the start of a new day.   With a sleepy groan, Evelyn sat up, her dark hair cascading in tangled waves over her shoulders. Her red eyes, still heavy with sleep, blinked as she took in her surroundings. Her room, more a luxurious three-story apartment than a mere bedroom, was a testament to her status and the wealth of the Mordos family.   The first level of her chamber housed her lavish bed, adorned with intricately woven blankets and plush pillows. A grand fireplace dominated one wall, its mantle decorated with rare artifacts and magical trinkets. To her left, a sitting area with plush armchairs and a chaise lounge invited relaxation, while a polished wooden desk near the window bore scattered books and scrolls, evidence of her late-night studies.   Evelyn swung her legs over the side of the bed and padded across the soft, ornate rug to the second level. A spiral staircase of wrought iron and marble led her to the mezzanine, where her wardrobe and dressing area awaited. Mirrors framed in gold reflected her sleepy form as she rummaged through her vast collection of gowns, robes, and practical attire for training. She selected a simple yet elegant morning robe, its fabric shimmering with a subtle enchantment.   Descending another staircase, Evelyn reached the third level, a private sanctuary dedicated to her magical pursuits. Shelves lined with ancient tomes and jars of mystical ingredients filled the space, while a large, circular window offered a breathtaking view of the castle grounds and the distant mountains beyond. Her alchemical bench, cluttered with various potions and apparatus, sat next to a small, enchanted garden where rare and magical plants thrived.   Evelyn made her way to a small alcove where a basin of enchanted water awaited her. She splashed the cool liquid on her face, feeling instantly more awake as the magic within the water revitalized her. She gazed out of the window, watching as the first rays of sunlight illuminated the snow-capped peaks of the distant mountains, a sight that never failed to stir a sense of wonder within her.   A soft knock at the door drew her attention. "Come in," she called, her voice still husky from sleep.   A maid entered, carrying a silver tray laden with a steaming pot of tea, fresh fruit, and warm pastries. "Good morning, Lady Evelyn," the maid said with a respectful bow. "Your breakfast, as requested."   "Thank you, Maris," Evelyn replied with a smile. "Please set it on the table by the window."   As Maris arranged the breakfast, Evelyn moved to her desk, her mind already shifting to the tasks and studies that awaited her. She glanced at the books and scrolls, making a mental note of what she needed to prioritize. The events of the previous day lingered in her thoughts, the lessons from her father, Eremon, still resonating deeply within her.   Evelyn sat by the window, savoring a sip of the fragrant tea and a bite of a flaky pastry. The world outside was awakening, and so was she. The challenges and responsibilities of her role loomed large, but she felt a renewed sense of determination. Her father's words echoed in her mind, a constant reminder of the strength and wisdom she needed to embody.   As she finished her breakfast, Evelyn rose, ready to face the day. The grand chamber, with all its luxury and splendor, was not just a testament to her family's wealth and power, but also a sanctuary where she could prepare for the responsibilities that lay ahead. With a final glance out at the breathtaking view, Evelyn descended the stairs to begin her day, her heart filled with purpose and resolve.
