A day in the life of Nyxia

A Warm Morning in the Royal District

The gentle glow of Issgrammor’s morning sun streamed through the grand windows of the Amicitias household, casting soft golden hues over the finely crafted furniture and rich silken drapes. Nestled deep within the Royal District, the home was a testament to both status and warmth—a place of nobility, yet lived in, filled with laughter and love.   Nyxia Amicitias, Commander of the Wyvern Knights of the Silver Rose, was no stranger to duty, to battle, and to the weight of responsibility. But today, as she slowly blinked awake, she found herself wrapped in something far more precious.   A strong, familiar arm was draped around her waist. Ivan Karisius, her husband, still lay beside her, his black hair slightly tousled from sleep, his breathing steady and peaceful. He had always been an anchor in her life, a presence she cherished deeply. Turning slightly, she reached up to brush a stray lock of hair from his face before placing a soft kiss on his forehead.   “Mmm… sneaky cat,” Ivan murmured, a smirk creeping onto his lips before he pulled her closer, resting his chin against the top of her head.   She chuckled softly, letting herself melt into his embrace for a few stolen moments longer—before, predictably, chaos erupted.

A Morning Full of Life

The sound of tiny, energetic footsteps echoed down the hallway, followed by the unmistakable pitter-patter of three little Miqo’te children scrambling towards their parents’ room.   “Mama! Papa! Wake up!” a high-pitched voice called out.   Then came the impact.   Ari, Kiri, and Sevin launched themselves onto the bed, giggling mischievously as they climbed atop their parents, little tails flicking excitedly.   “I told you we should pounce on them at the same time!” Kiri declared, her eyes shining with determination.   “I did pounce at the same time,” Sevin argued, his tiny ears twitching in defiance. “Ari’s the one who waited!”   “I wanted to see what would happen first!” Ari said with an innocent shrug.   Nyxia groaned playfully beneath the weight of her three kittens, pretending to be defeated by their onslaught. “Aaah! I yield! The mighty warriors have conquered me!”   Ivan laughed, expertly flipping the tables by grabbing all three of them in one strong motion, tossing them into the fluffy blankets with a whoosh! Their giggles filled the room, and Nyxia swore there was no better sound in all of Asiendal.   It was a good morning.

Breakfast and Family Moments

As always, breakfast in the Amicitias household was a lively affair. Nyxia stood in the kitchen, her tail swishing as she flipped fresh pancakes onto plates, the scent of sweet honey and spiced berries filling the air. Kiri and Ari were eagerly setting the table, though Sevin seemed more interested in sneaking bites of food when he thought no one was looking.   “Sevin.” Nyxia shot him a knowing glance, her ears twitching.   He froze mid-bite, a piece of pancake halfway to his mouth.   “I wasn’t stealing it! I was…uh… taste-testing!”   Ivan raised a brow from his seat, smirking. “Ah, so it’s an important mission, is it? Commander of the Breakfast Inspection Unit?”   Sevin nodded furiously, tail fluffing up in determination. “Yes! Very important! Only the best pancakes for our family!”   Nyxia shook her head, laughing as she ruffled his hair before serving the rest of the plates. The small moments—the playful banter, the shared laughter, the warmth of simply being together—these were the things she cherished most.   She might have been a warrior, a knight, a protector of the realm. But here, in this home, she was simply a mother, a wife, a daughter. And it was perfect.

Afternoon Stroll and Quiet Reflections

Once the older two were off to school, Nyxia spent the afternoon with Sevin, enjoying a quiet stroll through the nearby gardens. The air was crisp, filled with the gentle hum of enchanted flora and the distant sounds of Issgrammor’s bustling streets beyond the garden’s walls.   Sevin held her hand as they walked, his little fingers wrapped around hers. “Mama,” he asked after a moment, “do you miss flying?”   Nyxia blinked at the question. It was an innocent one, yet it struck a deep chord within her. For years, she had soared across battlefields atop her wyvern, leading her knights into the fray. And now? Now she was here, on solid ground, away from the rush of battle.   She knelt down, cupping his face gently. “I do,” she admitted. “But I wouldn’t trade these moments with you for anything, my little star.”   Sevin smiled, leaning into her touch. “Then… when I grow up, can I fly with you?”   She chuckled, ruffling his hair. “Of course. But only if you promise to hold on tight.”   His little tail flicked with excitement. “Promise!”

Evening: A Visit to the Royal Castle

Later that evening, a familiar summons arrived. A royal courier from The Royal Castle of Shaernaen stood at the door, delivering a message from none other than King Eremon Mordos himself.   Nyxia smiled as she read the letter. “His Majesty wants to see us,” she mused.   Sevin’s ears perked up. “Does that mean I get to see Gramps?”   “You do,” she confirmed, smirking. “And if you’re lucky, maybe he’ll tell you one of his legendary stories.”   Sevin’s eyes widened with excitement. “The one where he fought a thousand demons? Or the one where he punched a dragon-sized hole through a mountain?”   Nyxia laughed, taking his hand as they prepared to leave. “Why don’t you ask him yourself?”   As night settled over Issgrammor, she felt a deep sense of contentment. Her duty would always be there, waiting. But for now?   Now, she was just Nyxia Amicitias.   And she was happy.
