The Sisters

Based out of the twin keeps blocking access to the Green Mountain passes, Legio IX, colloquially known as the ‘Sisters’ are the most militaristic and fortified of the Marcher realms, having weathered many Wild Hunts from Lyalion. Many legates have fallen in battle against the Wild Hunts, and as a result the ladies of the keeps often are grizzled soldiers chosen among their officers rather than horse lords or local dynasts. This more meritocratic system bears resemblance to the old Malvan Empire and as a result some see the Sisters as a guide to reviving ancient traditions for modern times.
