The Deep Mother
A veritable horde of sea creatures of all sizes follows in the wake of this large yoroid beast. She provides them succor, refuge, and life. She is their source, their existence. I know not how she generates so much vitality. I only know that she shares her bounty with all - beast and homon alike. Her only enemy is the The Deep Demon who seeks her endlessly - to consume her.
A large isopod crustacean-like megabeast, the Deep Mother is an ecosystem unto herself. Multiple plant and animal species live on and around her such that the The Deep Demon trails her and consumes the life that seems to pervade and thrive in her wake.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Deep Mother is so massive that all of her has not been seen at once. Only the top of her shelled back is regularly seen and it is a deep marbled brown and green. From beneath the waves, she appears to have multiple long trailing legs and gills that descend down into the darkness of the ocean. It seems as though the ocean currents propel her.
Her large eyes are bigger than a homon and deep red. Her mouth is covered in fine hairs.
Ecology and Habitats
She patrols the The Endless Abyss and The Great Ocean. Here appearance seems to be fairly regular though when she is pursued by the The Deep Demon she sinks into the darkness of the ocean bottom.
