The Deep Demon
Northlanders took me out in one of their canoes as far as they dared. The Demon followed the blooms of life that trailed The Deep Mother and since she had passed this shore last Imus moon, by rights, it should have been near. And it was...The fin of the creature cast a shadow like a mountain on our canoe and waves nearly toppled us. I'm certain there is more to the beast but I find myself satisfied with what I've seen. Avoid the Abyss . Avoid the Deep Demon.
Travel over the deep sees are avoided by most for a variety of reasons: Storms, tossing waves, and a lack of food and potable water, to name a few. And even if that were possible to overcome, the aggression of the Deep Demon would easily sink any vessel.
Commonly, terrible tsunami and whirlpools are blamed on the thrashings of The Deep Demon by coastal tribes.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The only parts of the Demon that have been seen, and reported by living witnesses, are the dorsal fin, which is at least 30 ft. tall fully extended, tail, and the tip of the upper jaw where the teeth have been described as the size of a full grown man.
Artists have variously drawn it eel-like and shark-like, with numerous variations in design. All that they can agree on is that it's color is very dark except the webbing between the fins which seems to be translucent.
Ecology and Habitats
This primal lord patrols the The Endless Abyss and The Great Ocean. As it's not often seen, it's believed that it prefers the depths.
