Professor Talamund, or Magdorius Talamund, is one of the most venerated Ratfolk mages from the 33 century.
Early life
Magdorius was born at the start of the millenium in a large Ratfolk family that migrated to Alt'Ena. Being the third son, but not the youngest, he felt mostly forgotten by his family. But this also gave him the opportunity to do his own thing. Magdorius would often explore the lowest levels of Alt'Ena despite being warned to not go there due to occurences of many strange beasts. He would soon learn to carefully study the beasts without getting into danger. He would spent countless hours studying the beasts, making notes and pictures. Until something else caught his interest. In one of his trips he would find a sealed chamber that contained the library of a mage from the frist days of Alt'Ena. He began reading.
Years later Magdorius, alreayd a more than capable mage, started working at the magical academy. His skill was build from any of the books he found the chamber, thus in certain areas he was beyond many of his colleagues. This allowed him to quickly rise into the position of a Magus Electum, later renamed to be the Professors of the Academy. Much of this knowledge came from the books which he later learned were treasures found in the earliest day of discovery of the Jeruvian Dungeon. He held some of these books in his personal studies, but he never disclosed the chambers location. Because of this many colleagues believed that he made the chamber up. An explanation that is by now taken as a fact. Talamun's chamber is now only mentioned as a curiosity by newish students.
As a Professor his main studies were inspired from his early interests. Magizoology, Cryptozoology and especially in his later years Daimonology were the fields Talamund studied and teached in the academy. He published many important guide books, including but not only limited to:
- Anatomy and Physology of the Archnogiganteas with a special focus on Arachnogiganteas tyriensis
- Daimon species of the Jerulian Dungeon
- Daimon parasites - An Introduction
