Arvion
In the world of Arvion [Name not Final], matter behaves different from what we know. All of existence is made up of substances, whose names changed again and again over the century, and whose definitions changed many more times. Currently, the most fundamental of them all, Mana, is the subject of Mages and Scientists alike. It is the base that governs society and industry of the whole world. Yet, some try to grasp more power and venture into research of esoteric substances or concepts, like Miasma.
The world is inhabited by many creatures. Most of which follow the natural order and whose line can be traced back eons ago. Apart from most beings, are the sentients, beings that form culture and who seem more intelligent than the animals or even plants sorrounding them. But appearance is often deceiving. A normal animal can easily become more powerful than most sentients ever wish to be. Some species do so by natural growth, others attain spontaneous mutations and evolve into new beings. In fact, each ecosystem may change at any moment by birthing new beings. A phenomenon that seems to be happening more often recently.
The sentients themselve order into several groups, which are rather distinct by their habits. Those are the elementals, the elves, the dwarves, and giants of the world, which live in a fragile peace amongst each other. Each group defines itself by typical almost stereotypical traits for better or worse. But, the rare change of one individual from one group into another, or the existence of what seem to be hybrids especially among the growing city population, is at odds of the clear cut definitions that some want to be. Instead, in this wolrd, who you are defines what you are. And the change of one, changes the other.
This is the first Season of the campaigns that will happen in this world. It is the age of discovery, and discovery is thus the main theme.
