Mixed heritages are a system similar to alternate racial traits, in which one may replace the traits of their chosen original heritage with new ones. Unlike alternate racial traits however, mixed heritages are a package deal in the same way templates are, they represent a notable and extensive change in the original heritage, such as the presence of demonic blood, being the child of two different races, or even undeath. Mixed heritages provide both additional traits, as well as replacing or altering existing traits or features of the original heritage. A racial trait that needs to replace another racial trait will state what type of racial trait it needs to replace to be acquired, or if it needs to replace a racial trait to even be acquired. When a racial trait of the mixed heritage can alter or replace a racial trait of the original heritage, it must do so. Mixed heritages can only be chosen if you have a valid original heritage, and you can select only one mixed heritage. This decision is permanent and cannot be changed once made. Examples: For instance, a character with an elven heritage might choose a mixed heritage that gives them the abilities of a celestial being, replacing some of their original elven traits. Another character might have a mixed heritage that represents their dual orc and human ancestry, combining traits from both races.
