#001 - The Burning Rambler Report
General Summary
Lyndon Peregrine, son of Estell Peregrine and Farnham Peregrine, Queen and King of Peregrine Bay, had been spending some time in the capital city of Teyrnas Seren doing some business as part of his role as prince and heir to the Peregrine Bay throne. Whilst there, he met Penelope Hawthorne, daughter of the King's admiral, Admiral Nathan Hawthorne. The two hit it off quickly and developed quite the friendship. From this friendship blossomed an uncovering of a plot against the Queen and King of Peregrine Bay. After some discussion with Penelope and her father, she was given permission to go with Lyndon and see the world through a pirate's eyes, as well as stop the impending attack on Lyndon's parents.
They met up with some more pirates within The Sunken Treasure, a popular pirate tavern on the docks of Teyrnas Seren. They met Blade Forged By Blood and Yorissa Ridani, mercenaries from New Purgatory who had decided to join the current ship after finishing their latest mission. They also met Ruri Von Heisen, fresh off of her last boat and ready to join another. Lyndon explained the situation to them and that a rogue mage was travelling on one of The Reavers ships, a rogue pirate crew that took pleasure in murdering innocents and ruining the pirating code that was in place with Peregrine Bay and the mainland.
They all agreed that these people should be stopped and boarded the ship, bringing on a very easily led and very strong member of the Hawthorne guards, a man known as Pri. Penelope said goodbye to her father on the docks before they set sail, chasing after the ship in the direction of Peregrine Bay. They slept and were awoken abruptly by the sounds of the alarms and a ship spotted in the horizon.
The captain of the current ship told them it was a Reaver ship and that they couldn't attack it with cannons as there was a magical barrier in place. He suggested they needed a small team to board the ship to take out who was on board. Lyndon and his new friends volunteered, some of them more readily than others. Pri was left behind to help the other pirates and the crew left to take out Reavers.
They arrived on the deck and found four still living crew, and a mage who was holding up the barrier. They decided to split up and deal with individuals in multiple groups. The battle was bloody, with Penelope going down multiple times into unconsciousness, and Blade falling asleep in the middle of the battle. They managed to defeat all of the Reavers, but the mage ate something like a cake which was filled with poison that killed him immediately. After getting everyone someone up on their feet, they looted the boat and took it as their own, sailing back towards Peregrine Bay.
When arriving, they were greeted on the docks by Queen Estell and King Farnham who asked them what had happened. Lyndon explained everything to his parents and they were grateful that they had been protected by them, granting them each 1000 gold to spend on what they wished. They also told them that they have no fears of being attacked again as now they are prepared. They suggested that the group go and celebrate their victory. The Queen and King greeted Penelope also, learning that she was special to their son and that she was the admiral's daughter, a slight concern for them both.
Lyndon took the group to his house, letting them choose rooms to stay in and offered to take them to a tavern to celebrate. A tavern known as The Mechanist.
